Started clear blue ovulation sticks too early?

I’m not 100% sure of my cycle length (it varies a lot) and didn’t want to miss anything, so I started with the ovulation sticks around day 6. I’m pretty sure my cycle is going to be about 30 days, but thought I’d start the tests early anyway.

Will this affect the accuracy? So far I’ve had the high fertility flashing smiley from day 10 to 13 (it’s day 13 today) although my app is predicting a fertile window from day 16 to 21.
I’m not sure what’s more accurate - the app or the ovulation sticks?

I guess I’m just looking for reassurance that I haven’t messed up the testing somehow by starting too early!

The app won't have a scooby and if your cycle is roughly 30 days then a predicted fertile window between day 16-21 seems rather late.

The sticks are flashing because your oestrogen is going up in anticipation of ovulation, so nothing to do with starting the tests early. This can happen for quite a few days but sounds like your static smiley could be round the corner!
