Question for people who use BBT and OPK

Hey everyone so I have a question for people who use opks but also pinpoint O day but BBT.

Do you O the day opks turn from positive to negative? Or do you O whilst still positive on opks?
Premom says that you O the day your lh starts decreasing after peak (your darkest line)
But everything else I read says it the first positive I've that matters and not the peak but premom says the opposite.

Just wanted to see what happens for other people. I don't temp only use opks
Thanks guys just curious x

Ovulation can happen 24-36 hours from positive OPK. I tend to get 2 days of positive OPKs (taken around 6pm) then I will get my temp rise the following morning.

I usually ovulate the day of my positive opk, so I think it's different for everyone. But if you're doing bbt, you'll be able to see when it happens. I have had a couple of cycles where I got my peak and then ovulated slightly later, so it's not a definite science!

It's supposed to be 12-36 hours after the first surge. BBT wise mine usually show I ovulate the same day as my peak and sometimes the day after.

BBT is actually not very reliable for pinpointing ovulation -- there have been studies on this. It is very reliable at confirming that ovulation has indeed taken place, but the first day of temp shift can be up to a day or two before or after actual ovulation, as confirmed by scans.

@kalidasa that’s interesting, I started tracking bbt this month and I had temp rise the day before my peak opk then another peak day after that!

LemonDrizzle44 · 07/05/2021 13:02

I ovulate within 12 hours of my peak. I usually use OPKs twice a day and peak late afternoon. I'm sure I ovulate overnight as the following morning I get a temp rise.

@LemonDrizzle44 exactly the same here!
