I'd not heard that Pamina - now I'm going to have to check mine again...!

I just know that around O it's high and soft, before or after it's hard and low(er). But like Pamina says - just cos you can feel it now doesn't mean that it's not high for you!

Saying that, if as you're saying, it feels boney (or cartilidgey) then it's not how it is at O - so either way you're not ovulating at the moment!

Tania2 · 05/11/2004 11:18

hope i havent missed my chance this month
Bibi where did you read about this? I need to know more.

The Toni Weshchler book - Taking Charge of Your Fertility... she doesn't talk about it how it feels once you've conceived, but does say that if you've had a baby before it changes the shape... I've got to go and have my blood tests done now so can't find more info., but try googling cervical position and see what you get.

I wouldn't take your first time of checking as being conclusive for conception or not, but if it feels hard (like the end of your nose the books says!) rather than squashy you should be confident that you have already ovulated this cycle...

Tania2 · 05/11/2004 11:33

Have you checked yours pamina what is yours doing??
i would only be 5 or 6 DPO. does the cervix stay high for a number of days after o just in case egg meets sperm or does it drop then rise once you have conceived. OR am i being completly nieve about this and know nothing about egg meeting sperm in how much time. Do i make sence?? Shit i hope my cervix is high then cause its the first time i have tried it i dont know. TMI warning. i still had to put my finger right in IYKWIM it wasnt just a little???

Found this on FF
What is the cervix position like during early pregnancy? Can I tell if I am pregnant by observing changes in my cervix?

Observing your cervical position after ovulation will not provide any clues about whether or not you could be pregnant. Whether or not you are pregnant, the cervix usually returns to a non-fertile position in the two weeks following ovulation.

So maybe iam still in for a chance.

I am here. Should be working but am shattered on account of the week's trials and tribulations!!!

Tania2 · 05/11/2004 12:14

Hi Sallie, is dd better now? How are you feeling?

OP posts:
Sallie · 05/11/2004 12:16

I am shattered. You just can't sleep on a children's ward! She is home from hospital now but dh has just rung to say shes been sick again which is a worry. She may have to go back in if there is no improvement. Am feeling really guilty for being at work but my employers are less than child-friendly! Thanks for asking.

Tania2 · 05/11/2004 12:18

Bibi i have been reading up i found Toni's discription on babycenter.com i have now checked my cervix 4 times have got myself really confused now i think it is high soft wet and open will go and wake dh up for a quicky just in case but even still if i am oving i only have 10days till af due so i think i wont have a chance because of the LP length. this sux.

Tania2 · 05/11/2004 12:21

oh thats terrible sallie. well at least she has her daddy with her. how will your boss react if you have to go back to the hospital. surely that have to be flexable without discrimination.

OP posts:
Sallie · 05/11/2004 12:26

at least dh is a doctor so she is probably better off with him than anyone today. He is going to keep a close eye on her and then see how she is later before making a decision. Its now been going on for a week which is a real worry
