Have I missed the surge? Is ovulation over?

Hi all, me again!

Have been using opks since cd6 as I have suspected early ovulation. First time using them. Today is day 11. Have had ewcm from cd 6 until yesterday, cd 10. It seems to have stopped now.

Mostly anaemic lines except for yesterday. Attached are pictures from:

9pm last night
2am last night
6am this morning

The line got darker, but still not as dark as the control. After that, nothing. Am having a scratching sensation in ovary that I sometimes get with ovulation.

Does the sudden absence of a second line mean I have ovulated or will today?

Thanks for reading!

I can only see one picture. Do you make sure you don’t drink or wee for a few hours before the test? I always do mine first thing in the morning and last thing at night if I suspect ovulation may be very near but I know that my surge lasts a while so it’s easy to pick up. Also make sure you leave the test strip for a while as the first month I’d throw them away straight away and never saw my peak because the strips never had chance to develop! I’ve definitely missed ovulation a few times by not ‘getting to the bedroom’ soon enough after a peak. If you ovulate early (I have irregular cycles with about a 15 day ovulation window it’s a nightmare!) then I guess make sure that you’re doing what you need to do early on in your cycle?

Also - my peak line is darker than that but one month I did get a high and then it went down again and then two days later I got a peak.

Hmm, did one at 7am too...(on bottom)

I guess you haven’t missed it then! Get making babies! 😂

Just have sex every other day, it should be enough to hit whenever you ovulate.

ButterscotchBabe · 27/04/2021 07:01

You shouldn't be testing first thing in the morning, the LH hormone is always very low when you wake up. Test from midday until evening and your peak should show. It doesn't look like you've ovulated yet, I would expect the test line to be darker than on those OPKs. Time to DTD!

This month is just to track before we start trying properly as we need to wait a little while, though we have been a bit lax lately! We dtd two days ago and now I'm wondering if we may have inadvertently brought our plans forward a little! But if I'm not quite ready to ovulate for another few days then it's probably not likely. I am just trying to understand my cycles again while I wait for the green light to go ahead and try properly, so it's all good! It's been 5 years since I last tried for a baby so not sure what everything is doing!

@Anonapapple what days were those in your most recent pic?

Anonapapple · 28/04/2021 09:34

The last two are from this morning and the others are various points through the evening last night.
