TTC in between vaccines? I’m 40, so not sure whether or not I can afford to wait...

I’m 40 and have been TTC a while - DH and I have had all the tests and it turns out that DH had a very, very low sperm count (3million). He’s been taking vitamins prescribed for about 4 months now and is due to be re-tested soon.

Anyway, I had my first Covid vaccine a month ago, and due my second in June. This month, I decided not to TTC, but am wondering if I can afford to waste time waiting... but I also want the freedom and the relief of having the second dose of the vaccine.

Anyone else having a similar dilemma? Not sure what to do!

Obviously the chances are, we won’t conceive this quickly since we haven’t before. But it’s been more than the minimum 3 months of DH taking the vitamins - so perhaps his count is up and we have more of a chance now...

Ahh! Don’t know what to do.

I'm TTC and have had my first vaccine. I had it on ovulation day and still tried that cycle (without success). I'm carrying on regardless as I'm over 40 too. The advice now is to press on as far as I know. A fever around ovulation isn't a good idea but I didn't have that side effect even if it had' W mattered.

I’m also 40 and TTC (since 2018, completely unexplained, despite lots of tests). My second jab is in May and I’m still trying TTC. We’ve been trying so long, I didn’t want to delay it. In your case, I guess having another month of vitamins could be a good thing. Maybe make a decision after you get your partner’s new test results?
