Clearblue Fertility Monitor Users - How many high days?

Shazza2002 · 13/11/2007 14:51

Hi,

I'm using the CBFM for the first time this month. Stopped pill in September, had a 'normal' cycle (well not very normal 39 days, but first month off pill compared to some I know that's not too long)

CD6-CD8 LOW
CD9-CD17 HIGH

On CD17 today. Anybody else using experience so may high days before a peak?

Thanks

Hi Shazza, I saw you when I was lurking on the TTC Waiting room thread and we are cycle buddies!

I have now been using a CBFM for 3 months - I started after my first AF post MC in July. I did get a Peak reading on all 3 months so I haven't experienced what you did but I think the monitor might still be getting used to you. The fact that you have just stopped the pill might have something to do with it too. They do say that you might not see a peak reading the first month because the monitor is not used to your hormone levels yet.

I would say keep BD'ing every other day just in case but don't get too disheartened if you don't see the peak reading, you will probably see it next month - unless you fall pregnant this month!

Fingers crossed you get a BFP this month, with or without peak days on your monitor! x

Hi Shazza

I have been using CBFM for 3 months now and I have had

Month 1 day 15 - 19 high, day 20&21 peak, day 22 high
month 2 day 10 - 16 High, day 17 & 18 peak, day 19 high
month 3 day 9 - 16 high, day 17 & 18 peak, day 19 high

my cycle is about 32 days and obviously differs!

It varies from month-to-month.
One month I only got one HIGH before the peak and another cycle I got several more (max 6 I think ).

Drugs (especially clomid) will obviously affect this as well.

This is my first month...

cd6 - cd13 low
cd14 - cd16 (current day) high

Where is my peak reading ? will I peak ? I hope so...

Shazza2002 · 14/11/2007 08:43

Thank you all for helping. I know everybody is different but getting so many high days I was worrying, even though I know that doesn't help, it's something we do isn't it. Also most websites talk about OV being around CD14 so once you get past that date you start to worry.

Well, thankfully sods law has kicked in and I got my peak this morning CD18 . I know that's only the start of it but I had a few problems when on the pill earlier this year and my doctor thought I was going through the menopause (I'm only 27), went for lots of tests and confirmed I was ok, but couldn't explain lack of periods some months etc.

So I'm just glad that I'm OV, it has put my mind at rest. Nothing to say I will actually fall PG of course but at least one of the cogs is working

Thanks again everyone.

littlesquirt Have you posted yet or still lurking? Come and join us, it's good to have somebody to share these things with.

minxi coggi bellie I hope you all get your BFP soon

so are we best to keep having sex until you get the peak then back to high ? Thanks

Shazza2002 · 14/11/2007 11:00

As I understand when the monitor is on high there is still a chance you can fall PG. Reason being that sperm can live for a couple of days so can effectivily be waiting when you OV, get your peak. There has also been women that I've read about on here that have never got peak only high and still got PG. I would say as long as you're getting high then go for it.

I have tried to BD every other/couple of days since it's been on high. Glad I got my peak though else I'd be running out of steam

Funny you should mention about the peeing on them gilly. First few days I was peeing but then decided to dip instead. But still got a couple of highs when dipping, but was more comfortable I was doing it correctly that way, none of the 'have I done it right, is that why I'm not getting a peak'.

Sensitive little buggers those sticks

I always dip - just find that as you say it is one less thing to worry about!

Good luck for this month as you now have your peak!

This is my second month using the CBFM my first month I didn’t get a high or peak day only low days I dipped the sticks that month..

This month I’ve not dipped just held under my urine flow CD 7 high CD 8 high and today CD 9 high not sure if this is normal new to all of this just hoping I actually peak my times running out and desperate to have at least one child!! Praying everyday for this.

pongom · 06/01/2022 13:57

I've been using mine for 3 months now and the number of High days has varied each month (and I missed my peak day last month because I went away with a friend for a week and totally forgot about it, I was away when I ovulated anyway so I guess it doesn't really matter as would have had a pretty hard time getting pregnant without my partner haha!). It seems that I ovulate on day 16/17ish.

I'm 27 as well @Shazza2002 and my periods were SUPER irregular, sometimes a few months without one at all, for the first year after coming off my pill. They are now every 30 days and have been for about 8 months so maybe yours will even-out after a long while off the pill too!?

Good luck everyone, fingers crossed that this is your month! I'm only on CD9 so i've got a while to go until ovulation.
