I’m either 2 or 3 dpo ( 3 days after my peak opks). Anyone else? I’m very emotional today, don’t know if it’s just one of those days or if It’s something else

@Hoping4second congratulations! That's lovely!

I'm 12dpo, still with no symptoms. Did an easy@home cheapie with fmu this morning and there's a faint shadow. It came up straight away but I think it's an indent.

It led to quite a serious chat with my partner, who is concerned about how we're handling the process. We'd agreed I wouldn't test until I was late, but of course I'd caved - this month, straight after my mmc, it was just too much for me to exercise self-restraint. He was v. unhappy about it. Mostly about me going back on what we'd agreed. I hate being at odds with him, and see his point that it doesn't necessarily help to test early so next month I REALLY won't be testing until at least 14dpo/period due date.

Is TTC causing tension in anyone else's relationship? This is only our second cycle, and part of me feels like it was actually pretty unlucky to catch first time and then miscarry, even though we know we're fertile together. It's messed with my expectations and emotions about the whole journey big time. Sad

Here's a bad pic of the offending test. It's dry now but a line was there within the first couple of mins and I could've sworn it had some pink to it. I'm not sure if I should do a FRER just to rule things out or wait.

Without any symptoms whatsoever, I feel like it's likely a waste of another test. What would you do?

@weathervane123 we were the same as you and caught first time, then miscarried, and I think its definitely caused more anxiety as to why its not happening now. I'm actually not an early tester, but my partner feels the same way as yours, and would also rather wait til I'm late. I wait because I don't want to see if I'm having a chemical, after reading that 75% of conceptions end in chemicals. I just can't deal with the disappointment of seeing blank tests either.

I do temp however, and that's been really helpful for me as it gives some advance warning. Like this month my hopes were getting up, but I saw my temperature begin to drop slightly and then plummet and I knew my period was on its way.

But you saw a line? In that case I don't think I'd be patient and I'd be dashing out to get a frer!!!

@weathervane123 I'm rubbish at line eyes and also have no insight into these tests, but I'd be running out and getting a frer!

weathervane123 · 07/05/2021 10:37

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 It's hard isn't it. On the one hand, we're lucky to have caught at all when for so many that's the struggle, but on the other, you're left trapped between feeling like it was a total fluke and feeling like your body should be able to do it again asap, plus all the terrible anxiety that comes with any pregnancy post-mc.

I'm a naturally impatient, pro-active person so it's super hard to say que sera, but I do think there's something to be said for waiting it out here. Maybe I just needed to know how much my partner really hates it to calm down a bit. I think it'll be a little easier to wait next month.

The dreaded faint line! I have a frer and I ordered some yesterday (hope they show up before my partner gets home from work so it doesn't upset him again). But it's not having any symptoms that gives me pause!

@weathervane123 oh yeah I test alone also, prefer it to the buildup and pressure of us both anxiously waiting 🤣 hope your frers arrive soon!

Did you have symptoms last time? I didn't at all, except faintly travel sick, they didn't kick in til about 5.5 / 6 weeks or so

80sPadme · 07/05/2021 12:23

13dpo today think I have a vvvvv faint BFF

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yeah, I had cramps for four days that felt like AF (but was probably implantation), a 'wet' feeling down there (sorry tmi!) and then I got my v faint bfp. Pretty soon after that I was bloated and gassy, and had sore boobs. I've had a pregnancy where I didn't have any of that though - I had tingly nips and then I realised something was up after I missed af. Felt pretty much normal (if a bit windy lol).

I did a frer and have gotten a worse result! Angry An almost imperceptible line lurking in the white that I saw almost instantly. But one min I see it, the next I don't. Bloody typical!

On the IC a line is clearly there. I remember being frustrated to see a line like it just a few weeks ago when I was trying to confirm the hcg had left my system after the mc. What a rollercoaster!

Stepping away from the tests for a few days now I think. My partner is right - I've gone loopy!

On another note, my referral to the recurrent mc clinic has come through. They count chemicals in my area, apparently, so I'm glad I mentioned the two I've known about previously. I didn't get any argument from the epu nurse who referred me. Maybe because I'm 38 and ttc no1? No time to muck about I guess! I can have tests for thrombophilia (if not preggo) and my gynae or GP will prescribe asprin (if necessary) and progesterone for my next pregnancy. It's a relief to know it'll be consultant-led.

weathervane123 · 07/05/2021 12:49

@80sPadme I can see a line. But my eyes are really playing tricks on me today. Definitely try again in a couple of days. Good luck to you!
