Chemical pregnancy last month, now 2 days late

Hi everyone,

I believe I had a chemical pregnancy last month. I was due on the 15/03, had a faint line 4 days later with some symptoms like swollen breast, bloating and cramps. Then my period started on the 21st.

My cycles are regular (28 days) so I was due on the 18/04. I am now 2 days late but tested negative with a ultra early clear blue this afternoon.

Anyone else had similar experiences? Can a chemical mess up your period? Did this happen to someone else and then tested positive?

Any advice would be appreciated xx

Sorry about your loss. I had a CP in February. Before it my cycles were 29 days and ran like clockwork. The bleeding of my CP started on the day my AF would usually be due and only lasted a couple of days but i didn't return a negative test until a week later. My cycle immediately after the CP lasted 35 days and my last cycle was 31 days so still not back to normal. My LH surge has also been detected by OPKs to be late in both cycles too. Day 24 immediately after CP and Day 19 last cycle. Usually it's day 16. Hoping this month I edge closer to my old cycle (or get a BFP!)

Some people do get their BFP right after a chemical, however, so this is possible too. X

@lonelily312 thanks and sorry for your loss too, it seems then that it can mess up your period! It’s stressing me out as I just would want to know when my period is due. Hate keep wasting money on negative pregnancy test.

After my chemical pregnancy, I actually didn't get my period until the next cycle (had I had carried on testing, I would have known it was a chemical, but stopped after the digi confirmed and got my period late in the next cycle). I then ovulated 6 days later than normal and I am currently 5DPO. My cycles went from 33-35 days long to over 40 with the chemical.

@TalulaBella thanks for sharing your experience. It does seem that it can mess up your body. I am still 3 days late no sign of period, white discharge though which I am not sure what that really means
