Cyclogest for pre-menstrual spotting / short luteal phase

Hi ladies, I used Cyclogest for the first time this cycle to treat a short luteal phase and pre-menstrual spotting. It lengthened the luteal phase but I still spotted for a day before my period started. Has anyone else found that that it fixed their spotting in the first cycle they used it in, or does it take a few cycles? Also, might this be affected by whether it’s used the ‘front’ or ‘back’ way? I was on 400mg twice a day.

My LP is normal but I always spot any time from ovulation onwards. Somtimes a lot. I tried it 200mg once a day (front door) at night, and it stopped my spotting completely.

I used to spot for 8 days before I get .y heavy days so my period would be 14days in total...whi h made my luteal phase like 5 days.
My doc prescribed progesterone. Been taking 200mg vaginally 3 days after ovulation. It shortened by period to 6days and now luteal phase is normal length.
Sorry, not very familiar with what you're taking but I think spotting a day is not bad. I would have taken that over my 8days of sporting lol did your doctor say that your spotting will go away completely and your first day of period will be your heavy day?? I think pre-period spotting is the result of lower progesterone levels.

I'm sorry for my horrendous spelling... I hope you understood the gist of what I was trying to say...

@VixFromThe6ix my day 21 blood tests show progesterone is OK. But the fertility nurse still thought it was that too. Which is why she gave me it to try. And it worked! Only cycle with no spotting for 3 years.
I do wonder if my egg quality is crap though. So I think if ttc it can be an issue.

Honestly I'm wondering the same now cause period has been "regulated" but we are not getting pregnant... Ugh. And times we did it didn't get far.
Baby dust to you @paintfairy

Hi ladies, have jumped on this post because same thing is happening to me. I have been spotting from ov for years , some days are really quite a lots of red blood.

After 3 years ttc I was referred to gyno and put on cyclogest. Firstly 400mg once a day from 3dpo . This stopped the heavier red spotting but still spotted quite a lot of brown from approx 4dpo.

I doubled dosage this month from 1dpo and it’s slower but still brown spotting from 4dpo . Have been using them all ‘back door’ because i found it so much less hassle. So I know it’s not my cervix irritated by the pessaries.

Tested bfn yet again this morning 14 dpo. I feel so low and useless today I just don’t know what is wrong with me - has anyone had more than 800mg per day prescribed? I can’t tell if it’s just I need a higher dosage or if I’m barking up the wrong tree altogether 🙈🙈 any thoughts would be welcome, I’m just not sure how many more months like this I can take. Xx
