When to test after possible implantation sharp pain and cramps

Hello everyone,🥰

I've been quite chilled in this tww until yesterday and now I'm turning crazy again haha

I have been having tiny little pinches below for a few days, similar to what I feel around ovulation however last night I felt the sharpest pain (something I have never felt before) it lasted only a few seconds but I had to stop what I was doing to wait for it to stop. Today I have mild cramps, similar to before AF.

Does this sound anything remotely like what implantation can feel like? I'm not getting my hopes up really but if it sounds similar, when would I be best to test??

I'm currently 9dpo so the sharp pain I felt was 8dpo so not sure if that timing is even right. I'm such a newbie to ttc 🙈Xx

Honestly Id wait until you’re late for your period. Testing early doesn’t help because one of these things will happen
1; you get a negative and don’t know whether to believe it which causes more stress and more money spent on tests because you tested early
2; you get a positive and it’s so early that you end up stressing and testing over and over in case you have a chemical

Just exactly what the above poster said lovely, don't! I'm fairly new to it too and it just drives me insane now.

I had sharp pains at 6dpo like what you're describing. It wasn't pleasant at all and stopped me in my tracks lol then about a half hour later had sort of a tugging feeling? Hard to describe. So of course I though omg this is implantation!

Here I am on 10dpo, sad because I got a bfn this morning! I know I'm not out yet but it puts you on such a downer. I'm going to wait to see if AF arrives now.

I know the temptation is hard to resist but it's really not good for your mental state.

Good luck lovely 😊

That sounds exactly what I experienced at 5dpo, and got a faint bfp at 9dpo. I am now approaching 11 weeks pregnant.

Good luck lovely x

The 2ww is nothing compared to the 12ww so wait if at all possible! But I understand the desire to know ASAP.

Hello @Jellyfishx I had this really sharp pain like you described at 10DPO the last time I was pregnant in Jan. Got BFP at 12DPO but sadly was a chemical. Sounds hopeful, good luck! 🤞🏼

Jellyfishx · 19/04/2021 21:02

You are all right and I'm so proud of myself, I've avoided testing and I am not going to until a day after AF was due! After my shooting pain on Saturday night I had AF cramps on Sunday and they vanished but this evening I have had the most intense shooting pain for about 10 seconds right in the centre just above my public line!! I honestly would remember having this if I have had it before so I am really crossing my fingers and toes but honestly, the tww shows up all sorts of symptoms doesn't it haha

@purplepoppet92 congratulations on your bfp, that's lovely! I hope you are feeling well 😊

@Rudyroo sorry to hear about your chemical, I experienced one in January and it was an awful time 😔. That's another reason I'm trying to avoid testing as long as possible ! X x

I had this at 7dpo. I tested very faint positive on 8dpo. 🤞🏼 for you.

Rudyroo · 19/04/2021 21:25

@Jellyfishx yeah it makes it easier to test later in a way so you don't have the 'did I test too early' thing hanging over you! I am 8DPO just now and am going to have to try and have some serious will power!

Rudyroo · 23/04/2021 11:21

@Jellyfishx how did you get on? x

Thomasina2021 · 23/04/2021 12:56

Can anyone advise me? Been ttc for a year now. Had cramps and sore boobs then some brown spotting yesterday and thought period was starting but nothing more . Still cramps .
Cycle is usually 28/29 days with occasional longer one or about 35 days
I’m cd31 today

Any ides ?

Jellyfishx · 23/04/2021 17:18

@Rudyroo ohh I think I might be out. I tested with a frer the day after (no will power) and it was faint but I actually think it was an indent. The day after so 2 days after what I thought may implantation I tested again (not with an early response test) but it wasn't there so I am assuming I'm out! I'm due on Sunday so will wait and see. Trying to stop stressing and just be in the moment and stop worrying about what will or won't happen! Everytime I have been pregnant it's been unplanned and a happy accident so I do think relaxing helps!! Thank you for asking X x

@Jellyfishx well you sound like you've got the right attitide! Definitely still a chance for you anyway! Smile

Rudyroo · 24/04/2021 09:31

@Thomasina2021 have you done a test?

Thomasina2021 · 25/04/2021 09:24

@Rudyroo no but I had an opk and it was positive virtually (nearly equal lines )

Still no period and sporting has stopped . But I am older so maybe it’s that !

Bee44 · 25/04/2021 20:48

@Jellyfishx watching with interest as I too have been having weird ovulation type aches since 5DPO, currently 8DPO and it's still ongoing (I use OPKs to test ovulation so I know it's not that). Where abouts was your sharp pain? I had a sharp pain this morning - lower abdomen but towards my left hip 🤔 but obviously it could be anything and I'm looking too deeply into it!
