10dpo and very faint line - bad sign it’s not darker?

Hi TTC friend,

My partner and I have been trying for 8 months to fall pregnant and no luck. Finally booked a fertility appointment for next week and then low and behold tested at 10dpo today and have a very faint line.

I’ve never had a positive results so I’m not sure what to expect. I showed my dh and he was skeptical by how light it is. Is it a bad sign the result Isn’t darker?

Going to keep testing each morning and hopefully will see some darker results, but anyone have any advise at this stage? Is it expected to be so light.

Xx

That isn’t light at all for 10dpo. Congratulations!

When I first started testing DP was the same and assumed a line would be as dark as the test one, tv never shows anyone having to squint!

km1990 · 16/04/2021 09:01

Thank you! Its so true isn't it, clear blue ads never show anyone tilting the test in various ways to see if there is a line Wink.

Fingers crossed its a sticky baby!

For 10 dpo that’s dark enough! It should get darker in the next days. Congratulations 🥳

My 10dpo tests. I am 17 weeks now.

Any news @km1990

Tested again at 11 and 12 dpo and lines got a bit darker but still not super dark (picture is from 10 to 12 dpo). I’ve been too scared to test since then as fear for a chemical pregnancy, so just waiting to see if my period comes. One app said AF is due today, and another tomorrow so will see if she arrives but I hope not! No sign of her yet but have been cramping a lot the last 2 days which also makes me nervous. This TTC business is stressful!!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Those lines look like really good progression to me! Congrats 🥳 and good luck with the rest of your pregnancy ❤️

km1990 · 22/04/2021 12:32

Thanks @adriannaP and @extrababydust123!

Caved a took a test yesterday with AF one day late and got a strong line on FRER and a positive on Clear Blue, confirming 2 - 3 weeks pregnant. Feeling much more at ease, and hoping for a sticky baby this point on! :)

I ended up continuing to test after I got my CB digital reading of 2-3 weeks pregnant, and my lines of FRER are still dark and clear but don’t seem to be getting darker past 16dpo. My DH has told me to put the tests down and just calm down and wait until we can get a scan but it’s so hard not to be worried. It’s taken us a while to get pregnant and I just want it to stick.

It doesn’t look like I’m going to get a ‘dye stealer’, is this a bad sign!?

Op, listen to your husband. Put the tests down. You’re definitely pregnant

AdriannaP · 24/04/2021 12:04

Definitely pregnant! Get an early scan if you are nervous.

pigglepot · 24/04/2021 19:02

@km1990 stop testing!! Pregnancy tests are not a predictor of how likely the pregnancy is to be successful. They will just make you more anxious and have zero effect on the end result. All your tests look great and you're pregnant! Congratulations!

Gabby82 · 27/04/2021 18:47

They really are very positive tests. No need to keep testing, you're definitely pregnant, the scan will tell you all you need to know next (exact dates etc...). Congratulations.

CAG14 · 27/04/2021 19:14

@km1990 mine look the same after 14dpo. I'm 17dpo today and not got hugely darker. Pic attached is 15dpo and 17dpo. I wouldn't worry about the dye stealer as not everyone gets them anyway and some get them a lot later.

Mammyofasuperbaby · 27/04/2021 19:21

Step away from the test. Line progression is meaningless and is no indication of how your pregnancy will go.
I've been pregnant 5 times and had dye stealers that have gone both ways, same with one's that have stayed faint.
It took us 2 years to get our second child so I get your nervousness but all you are doing is stressing yourself out. All you need to know right now is that the tests have said you are clearly pregnant and congratulations.

km1990 · 27/04/2021 19:31

Thanks! I’ve put the tests down and trying to just relax and maybe get an early scan to calm the nerves, only time will tell!!
