Hi all, just wanted to reach out and maybe speak to some people in a similar situation! I am on about month 14 of trying and have a phone appointment next week to speak to my doctor. My period is due tomorrow and I'm pretty sure I can feel it coming so another disappointment on the way...

Feeling so frustrated with it all, especially as I know it will probably be a long road from seeing the GP to actually getting tests and treatment of needed etc.

My husband and I are both early 30s. I've been getting positive ovulation tests and also tried temping for the first time this month - all seems to be as it is supposed to be. My cycle is almost textbook in terms of length and ovulation date... And yet it's just not happening! 😢

Sorry this has turned into a bit of a rant! If anyone else is struggling, please rant with me!

Also has anyone else paid for any private tests? I'm wondering if we should pay for a private SA, depending on whether we will have to wait a while of we do it through the GP... Does paying for anything privately affect eligibility for any NHS treatment?

Hi there
I could have written this post Nora11.
My cycles are all completely normal and I've been tracking ovulation and I am seemingly getting a dark line on the OPK sticks at the right time each month. My partner and I started to get worried in January so I got in touch with my GP. I had a phone consultation to start with. This was mainly just a weight and lifestyle chat. I was then brought in for bloods and a smear test. I actually can't remember what the blood tests checked for specifically but they all came back clear. My partner was refered for a semen analysis as he had a varicocele and this can affect fertility. This also came back within normal ranges. I think without his medical history, the GP would not have been so quick to send him for a SA. I wasn't sure what to do next so I have another phone appointment with my GP on Friday (stupidly missed the one 2 weeks previously)
My period is due on Friday also and I really have given up symptom spotting, I just assume it will show up.
So I can't answer any of your questions but I am in exactly the same boat. The only positive thing I can say is that my GP has been supportive and I feel is moving as quickly as she can. You will feel so much better once the ball is rolling on the investigations Smile
