Implantation bleeding - when to take pregnancy test?

Hello,

Myself and my partner have been TTC for 4 months and my cycle is usually very regular. At around 6DPO I started getting very dark brown bleeding - it was extremely light and guess you could say spotting. I’ve never had this before so very unusual for me and not due on my period for a week from when it started.

The day after my BBT temp also rose, from around 36.66 to 36.79.

I’ve taken a pregnancy test today (8DPO) which I know is extremely early! It was a FRER, but has come back negative. Just wanted to know if anyone had had anything similar, and when they got their BFP? :)

Did you use an OPK to confirm ovulation? It might be that you ovulated a bit later than usual and it was ovulation spotting. Would then make sense that your temperature went up afterwards as you entered luteal phase. Also, remember that when you weren't trying to conceive you probably wouldn't have given a bit of spotting any thought at all, and therefore won't have it seered in to your memory like every cycle since ttc! Such fun! :)

Hey!

I did use an ovulation test and ovulated at around day 18/19 of my cycle! Which is the same time I usually do most months. My BBT chart has also confirmed the same in terms of ovulation as my temp rose on day 20. It just seems to have had another rise after the moment the spotting started which - I may be reading too much into it but odd for me to spot around 6DPO.

Intriguing! Well it would be very early still but fingers crossed for a few days time 🙂
