Can anyone help with DPO confusion?

Hope you can help (although not that it'll matter as I doubt this will be my month, never is 😂🤷🏻‍♀️)

So usually I get a peak OPK on CD12 and it lasts less than four hours which is a bit of a worry, but this cycle I got a dark positive OPK on CD11 and I continued to get them as dark until 24 hours later, and they began to fade on the evening of CD12.

I'm now on CD22 and Ovia is predicting that tomorrow will be my test day, and it always tells you to test on 12 DPO. I took a test today and it was negative :( but then I thought - you don't ovulate until after the peak starts to fade? So if I was still getting positives until day 12 in the evening, would that mean I likely didn't ovulate until around day 13? Which would put me at 9DPO and not 11DPO?

Hey I’ve just looked at my chart this month to check, because I temped. I had two days of positive opks, and the bbt graph shows I ovulated the day after the last positive opk. So I would say that you’d be closer to 9dpo (which is what I’m at today). It’s so nerve wracking isn’t it! When will you test again?

Here, it might be easier to see visually, ovulation day is marked the day of my 1st negative opk after the positives. My temp spiked.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 Aw thank you so much for going to that effort! This is cycle 9 for us after we lost our wee boy last summer at 18 weeks. We found out we were pregnant last year on 9th April and I think I stupidly thought it would be fate that we'd fall pregnant again this cycle...clearly like to set myself up for disappointment 😂

That would be good if I'm actually closer to 9dpo then! I might see if I can wait two days and test on Tuesday....if I can practice some willpower 😂

Ohh Kerry I’m so so sorry 😭 18 weeks is awful, I can’t even imagine. Have your cycles recovered/gone back to normal?

I had a 1st trimester miscarriage october and my cycles have gone haywire since, so I think this is cycle 4. I took soy this month because I was ovulating really late for some reason, so I was v optimistic this month and probably setting myself up for a huge disappointment also 🙈😂xx

I’m same as you, 9dpo, and will try to wait til Tuesday also then. I’ve a frer on my shelf but hate seeing negatives so will try to resist 😆

I know, was a massive shock and labour was hard to even put into words...we've been lucky to have really supportive family though, and luckily after a few months my cycles are now regular so I'm happy about that at least. Just can't believe it's not happened again yet, two babies have been born in my immediate family since so very hard to take my mind off it too!

Aw god I'm sorry for your loss :( It's such a horrendous thing at times, the whole TTC business isn't it? Oh I've heard great things about the soy, do you feel it helped you ovulate at a more normal time this cycle then? Yep, I've become an expert at setting myself up for a fall 😂 Really hope this is your month though! Hey, it's got to work at some time so you never know! 🤞 xx

Yeah the soy has been good so far! I took it days 2-6, and I got clear ovulation tests a lot lot earlier. Previously I’d been ovulating CD20-22 out of 30, or not ovulating at all. Hopefully it’s a reset!

Yes that’d be awesome I’ll try and wait til Tuesday also

In the meantime, I’m enjoying the weekend, having a few (weak) drinks and hoping seeing friends and family will take my mind off it (she says typing on conception forum boards at Easter....) it’s impossible!

Hahaha, you are me 😂 I've also decided to have a wee wine today and enjoy a nice wee family Easter weekend...and then checked my Ovia app which led me to posting this for advice 😂😂 Hope you enjoy the drinks and seeing your family etc! xx

Sorry about yours also. Logically know it would only show about 50% or something but still looking at blank tests is dispiriting 🙈😂 x

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 Ahh no 😞 I'm the same I think, although period does usually start as soon as I wake up but it took until 6pm to start spotting! Here's hoping next cycle is the one for both of us then! 🤞 How long are your cycles normally? We might be TWW buddies 😂 x

Ahh sorry to hear @KerryW87 :( Yep fingers crossed! My cycles are a bit of a mess recently, but I'd say 30 days ish. You? Ha yep be good to have a cycle buddy 😂
