Hi everyone! We are currently trying for baby #3 This is cycle 2 and CD5. Period last week was shorter and lighter than normal, really confused me as its never been like that, did 2 tests but both BFN so trying again this month :) Not putting too much pressure on it, just going with the flow and if it happens it happens, trying not to stress too much about it 🙈 anyone else TTC this month? Hoping I can chat in here with people doing the same ❤

Aw thanks so much @Rudyroo @Mumofboys20122017 @Tryingandhopeful , trying to stay positive in the face of my negative! I'm terrible for just counting myself out immediately at the first BFN...not feeling any symptoms of pregnancy or of impending AF so I can't even symptom-spot either way! Onto tomorrow anyway, I'm glad to be testing now at least.

@Dreamer30 massive congratulations, what a lovely surprise for you!! I remember this happening to me with DD1 and how shocked I felt when I spotted the 1-2 weeks message on the CB digital I had half-heartedly taken after days of negative ICs...hope you're celebrating tonight 😄

@Timeandtidal I like the CB OPKs, expensive but straightforward and take the guessing out of it. I didn't know how late I ovulated until I started using these, would definitely recommend. Now I just need to stop trying to use my leftover ones as HPTs as I'm probably going to need them next cycle 🙈🤦🏼‍♀️

@Timeandtidal you should have caught the egg with only DTD 24 hours after peak! The peak is only saying you’re about to ovulate in next 24 hours and once the egg is released it’s viable for 12-24 hours so you were within the time frame!! I have everything crossed for you 🤞🏻 You don’t have to do SMEP, that plan just increases likelihood of there being enough sperm during your FW to increase chances of conceiving! For this cycle we only DTD 3 days before my peak and then day of O! It only takes one sperm 😉 how many dpo are you now? With OPKs I used the femometer ones from Amazon and used the app which you use to take a picture of the stick and it tells you the percentage in peak levels! I didn’t need to use the app on my peak day as the test line was super pink and the control line wasn’t a bright as previous ones! I would recommend those ones if you’re wanting cheaper OPKs! I would hold off buying anymore though until you know you’re definitely out from this cycle 🤞🏻😊

@tothemoonandback21 thank you so much 😊 I couldn't quite believe it either, was expecting a big flashing 'not pregnant' so it was definitely a shock lol I was much the same before using OPKs in that my app was telling me I was ovulating about 3 days earlier than I was. This was the first month I used OPKs and BBT and it's obviously worked, basically before I'd just been winging it with my app lol. I also used the Femometer LH strips to detect my peak, but would not recommend the HCG strips as they were all stark white for me

2 silly questions I've just thought of...for those of you who use OPKs, do you take your peak day to be ovulation day or the day after? I've been counting my DPO to include the day I got my solid smiley but now wondering if I've counted one too many. Also, (even more silly now I think of it) 'DPO' doesn't include the day of ovulation does it?! If I've got both these things wrong then I'm actually only 8DPO today 🙈 You'd think I'd know these things by now!!

@tothemoonandback21 I just mentioned this to @Timeandtidal, with peak OPK it doesn’t mean you are ovulating that day, it means you will ovulate in the next 24-36 hours, so unless you BBT as well you just have to assume your ovulation is the day after or 2 days after peak! With DPO I count after the day of ovulation. So for me I ovulated on Friday 9th April and got my BFP on Thursday 22nd so 13dpo 😊 do you know how long your luteal phase usually is? You can sometimes work out your days from that!

I do think it’s best waiting near the time of expected period to test. I know it’s hard but it takes out all this guess work and early disappointment 😔

With regard to the OPK's I've been trying to figure out when I ovulated. The app said between 27th-29th March would be my peak. I took OPK's W/c 22nd March up until the Friday night 26th and had no smiley faces! Surely the Friday night one would have been high. Anyway I ran out of tests so I thought then found one on the Tuesday 30th and took it and that was negative too. I am pregnant though and got a positive on 13th April so either the kits couldn't pick up hcg or I've ovulated later which means I'm not as far on as I thought! I'm so confused lol x

@Hxoxox you may have ovulated on 29/30th March! Your peak may have been those days you didn’t test! That would work out with timing as you got your BFP 2 weeks later! So that would make you about 6 weeks this week?

@Tryingandhopeful that's what I thought but if people are saying it can detect up to two days I thought hmm strange. But yeah I'm meant to be exactly 6 today! ☺️

@Hxoxox I'm meant to be exactly 5 weeks today so only a week apart 🙊❤

@Hxoxox yeh so you may have peaked on 27th/28th/29th April when you didn’t test and then ovulated either 29th/30th/31st 😊 OPKs will come out negative even on ovulation day as it only detects the LH surge which is before ovulation

What do you guys think to the new update on Covid vaccines? I’m due my 2nd pzifer dose next week and not sure if I should wait until after first trimester!! Would you have it done?

@Tryingandhopeful I see, that was the first of me using them. Looks like I've got my dates correct then lol. Just hoping implantation didn't take too long as I have early scan at the weekend so hoping I'll be 7 weeks as I'm worried anything less I won't a heart beat!

@Tryingandhopeful I've not had any dozes yet. I decided against it when we started trying so I'll probably wait until I've had the baby until I get it. It's really personal choice I think but I don't want injected with something that albeit has been trusted as safe for now, into my body at such early stages of pregnancy. I just don't have a good feeling about it. My friend who is pregnant is the same. Not sure if that's my anxiety though as I'll probably get it once baby is here.

@Tryingandhopeful I was due my second dose of pfizer there on Saturday past, but I cancelled it. My pharmacist said to cancel as well, so hard to know what to do but I don't think I'll get it at all while pregnant at any stage!

@Tryingandhopeful Thanks for the advice on calculating my DPO, really useful - I got my solid smiley on 16th, app says 17th was ovulation day and I have a luteal phase of 14 days so I think that makes me 8DPO..? Re the jabs I was also due my second dose of the AZ last week but have postponed while TTC, need to think what to do about it if I'm out this month.

Plot twist: When I said I got another BFN this morning, I had actually checked at 3 mins (stark white) then put it down thinking it was too early anyway and got distracted by my preschooler. When I went to put it in the bin 1 hour later, this is what I saw! Can anyone who knows about evap lines tell me what I'm looking at here please??! I have no idea when it appeared, between 3mins-1 hour after testing 🙈 but it looks blue... Also I used the other test from this pack yesterday and it was still stark white an hour after testing (I remember showing it to my husband then to check there was no line). I now can't test until my next Amazon delivery on Weds, which is probably for my own good! 😬

@Mumofboys20122017 Aww, I'm ok thanks! I don't really have any symptoms I was feeling tired and had sore boobs but that seems to have passed! Just hoping I'm lucky to not have them and nothing is wrong! X

@Hxoxox aw don't worry I'm sure nothing is wrong! With my last pregnancy I didn't know I was pregnant until I tested a few days after a missed period, was another few weeks before any symptoms showed up with him :) I would enjoy feeling good for now! Lol

@tothemoonandback21 I have no clue about evap lines, but there is a chance it could be one? Although I thought they didn't have colour so I've no idea sorry 🙈 you are still very early at 8DPO so hopefully by the time the tests come on Wednesday you see a proper BFP within the time frame! Although even on Wednesday it's still early! Fingers crossed! And lots of baby dust to you ❤❤

Hey guys I hope you’re all ok!! So update from me. I had some pains in my lower left side and in my left foot late last night. I rang 111 who referred me to A&E and I had my bloods done. My hcg came back at 388, I spoke with EPU this morning and she said they are very low for what they would expect but I’ve got to go in for another blood test on Friday. She said if the levels haven’t increased then we need to make a plan moving forwards 😔😔 feeling so worried and anxious now!! Has anyone else had this experience before? Everything I read relates to it being an ecotopic pregnancy 😩 fearing the worst right now

@Tryingandhopeful I’m so sorry to hear your news, I’ve no advice but didn’t want to read and run. Hoping you’ll have some better blood results on Friday. How are you feeling?

Thanks @tuxedocat!! Feeling a bit crappy, my pain is still there but it’s not severe just a mild discomfort. Trying not to worry but easy said than done!! Also way too much googling!! I came across this

Pregnancy week Standard hCG range
3 weeks 5–50 mIU/mL
4 weeks 5–426 mIU/mL
5 weeks 18–7,340 mIU/mL
6 weeks 1,080–56,500 mIU/mL

Now I’m thinking the EPU lady has got me at 6 weeks + 5 due to my LMP which was 12th March which would match with what she’s saying about my levels being low for that time! Based on the chart I should be over 1000 in week 6! However I know I ovulated late in this cycle and my app, bbt and OPKs all put ovulation on 9th April which makes me 4+5 weeks! So it’s in line with the chart! Ahhh just don’t know what to believe! But from what I’ve read I can’t do anything until I get my second number back and compare and only hope it’s doubling as expected!!

@Tryingandhopeful I know that they say the number is not as important as long as it doubles, BUT if you do think you are earlier than you are (dating from LMP seems so odd sometimes if you know roughly when you ovulate) then that looks to be favourable! ESP if you O’d almost a month after your LMP!

Google really is the worst aswell as much as you know it won't help it's hard to resist having a look but it really is all the rubbish stuff you will be noticing, hope all goes well!

Yes @tuxedocat I just need the number to go up 🤞🏻🙏🏻 Yeh I have no idea but I’m assuming that’s what the lady at EPU is going by! I will mention about my ovulation date when I speak to them again Friday!! They said they hoped to get the results back by the afternoon but if not will have to wait until Monday, and just realised Monday is a bank hol so I’m going to try and see if they can get the results ASAP as I am going to be a nervous wreck all weekend otherwise! The pain has subsided now so not sure what that means! I can’t get the thought that I might be having a ectopic pregnancy out of my head 😩
