Pregnant 2wks after miscarriage (Ercp) ??

Has anyone fallen pregnant this soon after miscarriage, while still having light bleeding and positive hcg tests? I'm probably clutching at straws but if by some miracle I am pregnant how will I know!?? I can't do a test because I'm still getting positive ones! Going by when I ovulated I would be due my period in about 7 days but as its my first one after ERCP it could come later (so a late period wouldn't necessarily mean pregnancy) I also still have very light bleeding (mostly brown blood). How do you confirm pregnancy in this situation!? 🤔😬

I’m sorry for your loss. Whilst I did fall pregnant straight away with no period in between, I did ensure I had a negative test before tracking ovulation and ttc.

I will say I ov’d a week later than I usually would in a regular cycle due to it taking a week to get my negative.

I wouldn’t have thought two weeks is enough for you to clear the hormone, ovulate, and then get a positive. I had my surgery 27/07 a negative hpt 05/08 ov’d 15/08 & then got a faint positive 25/08

My surgeon did tell me it could take a few weeks to get the negative test though, so I think my body did recover relatively quickly.

Of course I’m not a doctor, & this is just from the extensive googling I’d done after my loss. X

Thank you @Sansa87, and I'm sorry for your loss too x
I had intended on waiting for my first cycle before ttc, I wasn't tracking ovulation and had no idea my body could even ovulate that soon afterwards. I noticed a few of my ovulation symptoms so took a test out if curiosity, it was peak and we had been dtd a couple of times so I find myself here now and wondering what next. I am having a lot if symptoms (which could very well just be connected to the mc but I can't help but wonder) but no idea how I would find out even if I was

@Cienega it all sucks doesn’t it. I will say that ovulation tests can show a positive if your body still has the pregnancy hormone, so it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re ovulating.

We said we would wait a cycle, but decided, after speaking to a midwife, that we wouldn’t wait for my period, as long as we made sure we were “sure” of the dates. Of course they can’t rely on ovulation kits so technically baby was a week behind going by lmp (date of surgery in their eyes”

I had an early scan at 6+3 which coincided with my ovulation dates currently 34w now

Congratulations @Sansa87 thats fantastic news. That's so great that you got pregnant so soon. X
Yes I did consider that the lh was high due to the hormones, but my ovulation symptoms coincided with the peak and the dates also fit (if I take the day of surgery as my lmp then I ovulated 12/13 days after which is exactly when I used to ovulate before I fell pregnant. I always got peak for two days before getting fainter and after two days of peak this time around the next lh test was high but not quite peak so I saw that as it dropping. I know even with these other symptoms etc that I may not actually have ovulated and my body might just still be a bit all over the place after the mc but it's a hard tought to shake. Can't help but wonder when I take everything into account

Could it be further retained product? Sorry I don’t want to be a Debbie downer... I had a MC and two months later still no period so did a HPT which was positive, I got excited it was a new pregnancy but turned out to be retained product ☹️ I had light and brown / pink spotting for around 3 weeks as well. I think after a MC or D&C / ERPC it’s a good idea to test every other day until you get a negative test. I wish I had done that after my MC but didn’t think to. I went to my GP after the positive HPT and she sent me for a scan and bloods which confirmed retained products after the MC.

Hi @Farfaraway1. I'm sorry to hear about your mc x
Yes I have definitely considered that especially as my hcg tests are still positive (they have been positive everytime I've checked from one week post surgery up to now), it's not that I've seen a positive test and think it's a new pregnancy, it's more that I seemed to be ovulating and since then I've had a host of new symptoms that I wasn't experiencing before the ovulation. It could all just be a coincidence in timing and while I'm hopeful, I'm still not convinced as I know the chances are slim. I also don't think I'll be very disappointed if not as if I was planning it I'd rather it happen when my body was ready and had a chance to recover so I have the best outcome and the best home for my future little bean
