I hate these 'am I pg?' type threads but please hear me out if you don't mind

AF arrived today 5 days late but it's very different to usual. Usually I have thick gloopy dark blood, today it's very watery and bright red. Any ideas if I'm being totally insane thinking that this is something other than AF? Have done two HPTs and both BFN so I don't know why I'm setting myself up for an even bigger fall but I've never had an AF like this and have never been this late either.

Anyone experienced anything like this?

If you've ovulated later than usual it could be an implantation bleed, in which you won't test positive until after a few days.

Or it could be an anovulatory bleed, which is not a period but the endometrium shedding without you having released an egg. Apparently this can happen to women once or twice a year.

I'm now pretty sure it's just a slightly different from usual AF, I don't think it's an anovulatory cycle as I'm on Clomid. I wish it was the implantation bleed but there's too much of it now
