Negative FRER yesterday at 17dpo - am I out?

Hey ladies,
Another one of these Confused TTC no2. Had a chemical pregnancy last month but period started a few days later when it was due. Cycle length around 33 days give or take a day. Expected AF on Monday/Tuesday but still nothing just mild cramps which I've had off and on for about a week. Since I tested with a FRER yesterday, it was stark white, should I just accept I am not pregnant and am just having a weird cycle?!

I think so sorry OP. I've never had a false negative on a FRER. I always find them really reliable.

Rudyroo · 25/03/2021 12:25

Thanks @Literaryseed I suspect you are right. TTC is an emotional rollercoaster!

Are you sure you're 17 dpo as in you know that you definitely ovulated then? Could it be that you ovulated later?

Rudyroo · 25/03/2021 12:54

@NoCallerID I was using the clearblue ovulation tests (the pink one) which just have static faces (not flashing one as well which I found much better!) and said to DTD for 2 days after that.
Got the smiley face on 5th March and had EWCM on the 7th so taking that as ovulation day. Do you think they are pretty accurate, or could I have ovulated later than that? It's just so weird my period is this late and it's driving me insane!

I have no experience with the clear blue kits, but since you're also checking cm it sounds about right. Keeping that in mind my cm can vary and usually get it around 3-4 days leading up to ovulation. I assume you left it at the static smiley and didn't continue testing after? Sometimes our bodies try but fail to ovulated so they try again. I'm a serial tester and for sure would continue testing until I bleed, but that's obviously personal preference.

Rudyroo · 25/03/2021 13:05

@NoCallerID I guess there is a small chance I might have ovulated a couple of days later than expected, so you never know, but I suppose even if I had been 15DPO when I tested yesterday, it still would have come up on FRER had it been positive. I'll try and give it until the weekend and if still no AF then I'll do another test. Arghhh!

@NoCallerID also thanks for your input!

Should have said also, yeah, stopped doing the ov tests when I got the smiley face.

I hope you know either way soon. The waiting is just awful....
I generally keep testing for a few days or until my cm has dried up just to make sure it wasn't a failed attempt. I use easy @ home strips. Lots of them. 😅 I love them and they're cheap on comparison to the clear blue ones so I don't mind using 5 a day.

Rudyroo · 25/03/2021 14:36

@NoCallerID yup it's just awful, if AF had just come on time I would just accept it and move on. It's horrible when it's all you can think about and you over analyse every tiny thing. Yes that sounds good, I think I'll have to buy some of the cheapies next time!
Where stage are you at in the joyful world of TTC?

Definitely consider them, I use them with the Premom app and it works really well.

Ha, just our first cycle back at ttc after treatment for 4 early miscarriages due to an infection after a termination for medical reasons.... We conceive quite easily (she says 🙈) so we'll see what the future holds. We have a living child already so know we can do it.

Rudyroo · 25/03/2021 15:49

Oh gosh, you sounds like you've had quite a time of it. So sorry to hear that. Onwards and upwards Smile

After my first chemical pregnancy I ovulated late. I usually have a 26 day cycle but didn't ovulate until cd33. Did you track ovulation with bbt or just the opk's x

Rudyroo · 25/03/2021 16:01

@Annannanna just the OPK's. Ah that's interesting. I did wonder about if that had messed things up for this month. But then I'm fairly sure I did ovulate around about then because of the EWCM. I have no idea what's going on and it's stressing me out big time!

OP posts:
Annannanna · 25/03/2021 16:06

I also had ewcm around the time I should have ovulated, but the bbt showed I didn't ovulate til much later. Have you had any ewcm since?

Maybe you were just a little later than you thought so a line wouldn't show yet 🤞🏼 x

Rudyroo · 25/03/2021 16:11

Ah okay, how much later do you think you ovulated? No none since, but had more creamy discharge all this week. I really hope you are right!
