Covid vaccine and TTC

I've just received my message to book my covid vaccine.
I'm just wondering when it's best to book it?!
AF is due on Sunday (currently 8dpo) so if it arrives should I book my test for next week as I know I won't be pregnant? And ttc going forward should that be okay?
Does anyone have an advice? Thank you x

Also interested to hear people’s advice on this! Hearing so much conflicting advice online 😂

I don't have any advice but we're ttc and I had my vaccine Saturday before I ovulated and now trying to decide if we should pause until after the second dose. It's such a minefield! 🙈

I would book for next week. I've had my first one and got told it was fine to start ttc straight after, would just mean if I did fall pregnant I couldn't have the second. My second vaccine is next week and I'm not preg so will be having it and carrying on straight after x

SendMeHome · 15/03/2021 11:51

I had it the day after ovulation; mostly because that's the earliest I could get it, although I was aware that it probably meant we wouldn't conceive.

You can carry on TTC throughout, though. If you get pregnant before the second jab, your doctor will risk assess whether you have the second jab or not, and if you do, when the safest time to have it is.

I have booked it for Monday morning. AF is due on Sunday but I usually get spotting a few days before hand. So I'll know by Monday whether I'm pregnant or not.

Has anyone had the vaccine and got pregnant very soon after?

Also thank you for all writing back 😊

I would book it for about 5-7days after af. That way if you get any side effects like a low grade temperature it should be over before you start to ovulate and shouldn't interfere with conception.

tulips87 · 15/03/2021 12:15

@nameisnotimportant I have booked it for CD2, hopefully by the time O I should be recovered from vaccine symptoms?

I decided not to take the vaccine because I'm ttc!

Skl2021 · 15/03/2021 15:39

I had mine last week on 3dpo. I was also trying to decide when to have it but just thought I would get it over and done with before Incase I do get pregnant this month. Luckily I was fine and had no side effects. X

Genevive123 · 15/03/2021 16:08

@xoJellyBean same for me! I've decided not to have it whilst TTC x

xoJellyBean · 15/03/2021 22:15

@Genevive123 I've got total abuse over it but i mean.. they told us not to take it and all of a sudden now it's ok?! 🙈 just want to be careful x

Genevive123 · 15/03/2021 22:18

@xoJellyBean have you?? That's not fair you're allowed to make your own mind up! I would t force my opinion on anyone but I personally wouldn't want to risk it :) xx

tulips87 · 15/03/2021 22:52

@xoJellyBean no way, everyone is allowed their own opinion and you do what you think is best for yourself. Good luck in your ttc journey x

@Genevive123 yes! I work for the NHS, not frontline or anything but some of the girls in my office area called me a super spreader lol how long have you been ttc? Xx
