Can period pains be a sign of early pregnancy?

Hi all, so my period is currently 6 days late and I haven't tested yet because I have been having af style cramping on and off and keep thinking the witch is definitely on her way. I've had cramping now for between 2-3 weeks and no sign of af. In fact, usually my cramps are accompanied by spotting when af is due but there has not been any sign of blood since around 8-9 dpo and I am currently 21dpo! I dont have any tests at home and am wondering whether to get some or just wait it out a bit longer. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I want to add that the cramping I have been having is EXACTLY like the af-cramps I usually get, very dull and worse at night/in the morning.

Hi @pearlsandpetals ! If it was me I'd go out and even get a cheap test just to put your mind at ease either way. Let me know how you get on!

@pearlsandpetals with my last pregnancy one of the only symptoms I had until about 7 weeks was awful period like cramps! Very common in early pregnancy! Definitely test!

Very early pregnancy symptoms are pretty much the same as AF symptoms.

If your period is this late I would go and test, you probably wouldn't even need to use FMU at this point.

I got my BFP on day of missed AF and for 2 weeks afterwards had period like cramping!

Hi @pearlsandpetals, hope you're well! I know this is an old-ish thread, but wondered what th outcome of this was as i'm going through the same thing - cramping for two weeks, thick white discharge (sorry TMI!) but BFNs. I'm about 10 days late for my AF now. Also having quite bad lower back pain and have had a sore throat on and off for two weeks too! Thanks!

Any thoughts would be appreciated, along with any stories of similar situations and what the outcomes were!! Thanks guys x
