Peak ovulation on cycle day 35???

I’ve just had a peak ovulation test on cycle day 35?? I went 5 months with no period after coming off the pill and had my first period in February and I still haven’t come on this cycle yet but have taken 2 pregnancy tests that are both negative. Is it possible to ovulate this late? I’m so confused! X

Yes definitely possible - you can ovulate on day 141 for all it matters. Your period basically comes on once either your body has ovulated or if it's given up trying to ovulate for that cycle. Coming off the pill you can have some really wonky cycles so it's important you carry on doing the deed regularly as ovulation can happen whenever.

Long cycles are such a pain in the bum! This happened to me - I developed PCOS after coming off the pill. My first few cycles were normal and then suddenly they just went weird. One cycle was 46 days, the next was 60 etc...

I went for a scan privately as my GP wouldn't investigate (have now changed to a much better GP) and found out I had PCOS.

There can be other causes of long cycles though.

The positive thing is hopefully you're ovulating. It might be worth telling your GP about this and seeing if they'll do some blood tests to check your hormone levels

Thank you both for responding! I actually can’t believe it, I tested yesterday and it was so clearly negative and the control line was so obvious seconds after I done the test! I’m currently having acupuncture to help ovulate and get pregnant hopefully so fingers crossed 🤞🏼 Xx

To add about going to the docs though - crazy cycles are super normal after coming off the pill so the majority of GPs won't do any tests until a year has gone as they will see it as part and parcel of coming off the pill.
