I'm a bag of emotions and feel like I'm in such limbo.

That's a BFN, I'm sorry. 😔
Do you track ovulation?

Bee44 · 06/03/2021 13:10

I was the same last week, AF arrived though (always happens after I pee on an expensive CB test 🙃) 5 days late - took my cycle from 23days to 28days which I suppose takes it to an average timescale but still got my hopes up! Wondering how long this cycle will be.

@eloiseislost

Thanks for your honesty. Ugh so frustrating.
I ovulated Feb 16/17, DTD 11th and 14th which was during FW. DH then was away for work. My AF was due the 2nd. I've never been late.
It's impossible to be pregnant I think based on dates above.

@bee44

How strange! Is your AF normally on time?
I've never been late. Hate how I feel so hopeful when deep down i know its probably just AF being the b*tch she is!

@Sesamechick I've had my fair share of BFNs, I know how you feel!
How did you confirm ovulation, are you using OPKs and/or temping? I used to rely on an app to tell me when I ovulated but obviously an app doesn't know if ovulation is slightly late for whatever reason!
If you did ovulate on 16/17 confirmed by a temp rise and a positive OPK, then it is unlikely you're pregnant.
But if you ovulated later, and DH's sperm survived a few days inside you, it might be that you will get a BFP soon.
I know how frustrating it all can be! Wishing you the best, from the bottom of my heart ♥️

@eloiseislost

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I dont use opk; my ovulation dates were based on 2 diff apps I've been using. Came off BC in August and my periods were v regular.
Hmmm i guess there really isn't a way to know whether I ovulated later but I'm not feeling very positive (no pun intended!)
My FRER that i used this morning was my last so I'm just going to leave it for now. Being late put my hopes up. Feels cruel but i guess AF will just be late this month.
Thanks so much lovely xxxx

@Sesamechick When I started TTC, my clockwork periods went completely haywire -I swear AF was trolling me! 😂
Apps are pretty useless in the grand scheme of things, they take statistics about your cycles and make guesses. They can't detect if you ovulated late or when exactly do you normally ovulate for that matter. They assume that there are 14 days between ovulation and AF showing up (luteal phase), which is the textbook cycle but ironically applies to a tiny amount of women.
For example, my luteal phase is 11 days, which means the apps were telling me my FW was ending 3 days before my actual ovulation!
I did get pregnant twice once I started tracking with OPKs though, so, if this is not your month, don't worry about it, just keep going! 🙂💗
Best of luck!

@eloiseislost

Thanks for the info.
Maybe I'll try OPK this month. To be honest, I was very lucky with my other 3 pregnancies. Fell pregnant as soon as I went off BC with them.
Sometimes I think I stress myself out too much with tracking ovulation, DTD during FW etc
Thanks lovely. Best of luck to you too ♥️

@Sesamechick My period is a week late today and I've got 28 day cycles, always on time and I am getting negatives. My body does not feel like I should be getting negatives but I've read a lot of stories about some women only testing positive a week or more after their missed period.

I wouldn't rely on apps for ovulation, so there is definitely a chance that you did everything at the right time.

Unfortunately there's nothing you can do but wait and keep testing. I hope you get an answer sooner rather than later!
