OPK / Clear Blue ovulation tests giving different results

Hi all,

I had my Nexplanon implant removed at the start of Feb, following being on it for 10 years (3 implants). Nurse said that I could start trying straight away, and to use ovulation tests to time it right as I wouldn't know when my cycle starts again.

I've been using cheap OPKs from Amazon along with the Clear Blue 4 day ovulation tests.
Earlier this week I had 4 days of flashing smiley faces, followed by a solid smiley face on the CB test, however all strip OPKs have said negative!

Driving myself crazy. DTD daily anyway haha, and not expecting anything straight away as first month TTC and know my body probably needs time to adjust to not being on contraception... but the difference between the two tests is driving me crazy! Also been testing BBT and seemed to increase yesterday, in like with CB test... anyone else had these discrepancies before?

Hi @Ellebelle1990 yes I did last month! I got a static smiley on the Friday and my cheapy opk wasn't positive until Sunday, FF confirmed I ovulated the Monday. It seemed CB was really sensitive to picking up the start of my surge, but I didn't ovulate until 3 days later. The cheapy opk was less sensitive picking it up 1 day before.

In addition to what the previous poster said - when are you testing with the cheapies? Just asking as CB asks you to test with FMU but ICs not - so you could just have been missing your peak?
