21 day bloods on clomid

Hi looking for a bit of advice, I have PCOS and have been ttc#2 for some time. I have started clomid 50mg and took my first round on cd2 30/01. I had a pain in the right side of my stomach on 16/02 and had a very positive opk.I had my 21 days bloods on 19/02 and today was advised the first round was not successful as ovulation levels were low and they will be doubling my dose from next cycle. Just curious as to whether the 21 days only show a true reflection of hormone levels a certain amount of days after ovulation? I was so sure this month had worked but as I am having no scans etc just blood tests I wonder if I should speak to my gynaecologist about amending 21 day bloods as I don't have a regular 28 day cycle. I have attached a picture of my opk. Any advice welcome thanks x

Your progesterone bloods need to be taken 7 days past ovulation, which isn't necessary cd21. If you ovulated around the 16th and had those bloods on 3 days later, it isn't going to show a peak progesterone result.

What CD are you currently?

@YouBoggleMyMind thank you for your reply. This is what I was wondering. I'm happy to double my dose if it gives us more chance just frustrating at the moment as I was prescribed the clomid over the phone and you don't really get any help. I'm CD29 today x

Hi @louise3393 like the previous poster said you need to schedule them 7 days after ovulation. I have PCOS also and I've done this to get the most accurate result. You could always let them know that the test wouldn't have been accurate and can you have flexibility on when they do the bloods and try another round on 50mg if that makes you feel more comfortable?

Has AF come? Have you taken a pregnancy test to see if it's worked?

Hi @VP91x, I think I will give them a call Monday and explain the situation I'm happy to double up if it increases our chances and luckily I didn't suffer with too many side effects first round.

@YouBoggleMyMind I haven't tested yet, was allowing a few more days and then test x
