TTC baby no. 1! Implantation bleeding?

Hi girls, I’m in my 5th month of TTC after coming off the pill about 7 months ago. My cycle has been surprisingly regular since - average 33 days. Every month AF has been either on time or late (according to my app). This month I was 2 days early, which is very unusual for me, and it only lasted 2 and a half days (again very unusual, AF is normally 5 days long). This got my hopes up thinking it could be implantation bleeding, but tested today (a week after the bleed finished) and it’s a BFN :(

Any advice on why else my period was so off? I’m worried it could be a sign of early MC?

Bit more info about me.. I’m 25 y/o, partner is 31 y/o. No previous pregnancies. Was hoping I’d be really chilled about TTC but I am checking mumsnet almost daily! Using app to track periods, haven’t tried OPKs or tracking BBT but have just ordered a thermometer so will see how that goes.

Would be lovely to hear of anyone else in a similar position. Sending baby dust to everyone 💖

Hey 😊 ah it's so annoying when our body does these things to us! I just wanted to share my experience, when I had implantation bleeding (a Saturday) it was mainly dark/old blood which was quite watery, which followed what felt like a sharp implantation pinch. It lasted three days. I got a BFP on the Wednesday. I'm still super early days but just wanted to share, I do think normal implantation bleeding would allow you to detect a BFP about 3 days after xx

Hi! Thanks so much for responding and sharing your experience. Congratulations 😍 mine definitely sounds different, I had pains on day 1 but that was it, and the blood was red apart from the final day it was brown. It was very light in comparison to my usual periods so it still seems strange. But I know it would show positive on a test by now if it was implantation so will just have to keep trying 💪🏼 How long were you TTC for before you got your BFP? Xx

No worries! I only got the BFP this week, I keep thinking I am going to get AF (Aunt Flo / Period - no idea why we call it this!) every time I go to the loo. We have been trying for #1 since June 2020, nine months, I have a pretty regular 28 day cycle. My best advice would be to pinpoint ovulation - we got it wrong for the first few months, I was convinced I knew when it was happening but I was totally wrong, and due to my husbands shift work we couldn't just do it every day like people suggest. For me it happened quite late, about day 18 of my cycle. I found this out from the OPK tests and BBT tracking.

There's a group called Magic Dust for 2021 5month+ crew continued - a bunch of incredibly supportive gals all in a similar boat! Come over to that and sure lots of the girls will have some reassurance or can share frustration xx

@Rose2108 It’s really nice to hear a positive experience, thank you so much for the advice! I haven’t been tracking ovulation apart from the estimated date on my app so I’m going to start by taking my BBT and see if that helps 🤞🏼

Aw that’s so lovely, thank you - I will definitely join! Xx
