I’m late..... but I have a coil.... but Iv been worried all week

I have the copper coil, have for 2 years, not had any issues with it still have regular periods and still ovulate half way through the month. This month I ovulated and about a week after had the tinyest little sharp pains that felt almost like implantation pains! (I have children so I know) I’m now 2 days late! I’m never late! Last night I removed my bra and my boobs felt heavy and sore! For 2 nights Iv woke up unexpectedly and not been able to get back to sleep. This is how my last pregnancy started. I’m now a bit worried! But surly it’s all in my head right? I have a coil that’s supposed to be super effective!! Can you even get pregnant on the coil??

You should test. Its unlikely but possible - copper couldn't is one of the most effective contraceptives available but theres still a slim chance. Also if you come back positive you should seek medical input as coil slightly raises chances of an ectopic pregnancy

I have a hospital appointment with my child then I’m going to the chemist on my way home. It’s driving me insane I can’t stop thinking about it and worrying! We have disguised trying for another baby next year once my youngest is in nursery, so if I was to be pregnant I’d be absolutely delighted about it.

I know someone whose fallen pregnant a few times on it....some things just don't work for some people x

My test was negative then I started spotting the next morning and then had a very heavy period which I’m still on now! So it’s quite different to my normal periods by being late, heavier and lasting much longer x
