Ovulation sticks say ovulating today, period dates say different

According to my dates I should ovulate on Wednesday. I’ve been using ovulation sticks this time and apparently today is the day.

When I had dd3 my scan put me ahead a week off my dates. Could I ovulate early? I’ve never used the sticks before.

You ovulate within 48 hours of a positive opk, so if you got it today it'll likely be tomorrow.

Your dates don't mean much really, you'd be guessing based on averages?

Also beware that the sticks only tell you when your LH surge happens - but ovulation is usually 12-36h after so if you had a peak today you could still be ovulating on Wednesday?

You can only really know if you track your temperatures I'm afraid :)
