Misoprostol - how long does it stay in your system?

Hi all, I recently had surgical management of miscarriage and was given misoprostol as pessaries to soften my cervix before the op. I read that it can cause birth defects, and I was wondering if anyone know how long it stays in your system and I was hoping to start trying again very soon.

I know you're supposed to wait for 1 cycle to conceive after a miscarriage for dating purposes, but time isn't on my side so I'd like to start ASAP but only if all of the drug would have left my system. I can't find anything definitive online.

Any thoughts most appreciated!

Hey,
I don't know all the medical stuff but I would definitely wait a cycle just incase, it's not worth the worry that it could harm a potential baby, especially as it's prescribed in the UK for terminations.
If it's not yet been 1 cycle then your body may not be geared up for trying again, give yourself some time to heal and peace of mind if you can, but I totally understand the need to keep ttc x
