Pregnant with a job?

Hi ladies,

Just curious what others think about this, but do you think employers would look down on a new transfer being pregnant? I haven't got my BFP yet but I feel very different this month, bloated a bit nauseous but I have just got offered a vacancy at a store nearer to home.

If I was positive, do you think it would be a bad thing to transfer and tell them in a couple months ??

Really anxious Blush

Not at all, you have to think of yourself. X

Hey! I'm in a slightly similar but different situation - I found out I lost my job and was pregnant on the same day last week.... so now I'm looking for a new job and by the time I find one and start could easily be 12 weeks...

I don't think you have to say anything until 26 weeks to employer (which may help with your decision @Satsuma2019?). But wondering if it's immoral to get a new job knowing I'm pregnant - though it's not like they will pay SMP as not eligible with dates... and I need to pay the bills!

What do you think....? Any advice for me or alternatives!?

Hiya! I'm pretty certain they legally can't discriminate against you due to pregnancy. Go for it!

The only reason I'd avoid changing jobs when pregnant is to maintain my own maternity rights - if that's not an issue, don't worry about the employer and put yourself first. They'd make redundancies if they needed to without thinking about your bigger picture (and rightly so) so why should you think about theirs?

I'm also in a similar situation looking for a job and just found our we're expecting. I didn't say above as was worried I'd be judged 🙈 but if I do get a job I won't be telling the employer until I have to. Certainly not before interview or before I tell family!

Good luck! X
