How many days after positive OPK did your BBT go up?

Mine is still down after peak OPK on CD9 at 9pm. It's 2 days after now so CD11 so I'm a little worried I won't ovulate this cycle...

Mine was usually 3-4 days after...

Blossom37 · 15/02/2021 09:47

@TH22 ohhhh that's interesting I SwayD thought it was 1 day after. Did you fall pregnant with that temp raise? X

I am currently 35 weeks pregnant :)

What I realised, after a few months of tracking, was that I was ovulating a few days earlier than I originally thought! So for the first few months, I was doing the deed too late.

Our temperature can rise any time after ovulation and it doesn't even need to be a significant spike... I always had a super slow rise; never ever a large peak that you see on other people's charts. It's also worth noting that I almost never got a positive OPK - I have such a short surge that I would miss it almost every time!

If you have regular cycle lengths, then I would personally recommend that you do the deed every other day from the moment your period finishes. Rather than waiting until you think you're ovulating.

It's tough, I know. Especially when you think you're doing every right and you read so many conflicting things on the internet.

Good luck :)

Mine was two days after peak OPK. I also had two dips at CD9 and CD15 (although just High OPK) where I think my body might have been trying to ovulate but changed it's mind!

Eventually ovulated CD21 (and got BFP 9dpo :)) x

Lolajames · 15/02/2021 10:45

I am in the same situation I don't seem to have had a significant spike - just a slight one! This was my first month using clear blue opk and was shocked at how quickly I went from not ovulating to my peak. Great to hear that this doesn't just rule us out! 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Fifi1086 · 15/02/2021 10:49

It depends on what opk you're using I've realised! I got my peak on clear blue advanced on Friday at cd17 but only got my peak on one step opk strip yesterday afternoon. I think the cb opk are much more sensitive and detect the very start of an LH surge. If you've a longer one (like I seem to have) it might be a few days. After my positive opk strip yday I started getting ovulation pains and think I'm ovulating this morning so I'm expecting a bbt rise tomorrow 😊

Juno231 · 15/02/2021 13:36

How long are your cycles normally? It wouldn't be unusual for a peak on CD9 and the temp to rise on CD12 - the window is meant to be 12-48 hours really.

My ovulation tends to be the same day as my peak OPKs. So if I have a peak on CD15 I can see a sharp temp rise the very next day already.

Blossom37 · 16/02/2021 08:50

Ok so looks like the raise was today we shall see... but my ovulation would be quite early CD11 so fingers crossed it works even if early haha

@TH22 congratulations hun that's great news!

@Amz6219 are you pregnant at the moment too? If yes then congratulations too :)

@Lolajames yeah mine seems to be 0.3 Celsius but I guess it is just about a raise overall. I am not an expert but my FF app would sometimes pin point ovulation on the app even with slight change for mine.

@Juno231 so basically my cycles are slightly messed up after my first one so vary between 24-40 days lol but last few were around 24-28 Mark so hope it stays regular. With this raise below I'm assuming I ovulated yesterday so hello my dreaded TWW 😆

@Fifi1086 I'm using easy@home they are part of the Premom app and they were better than the cheapies from Amazon. Never tried digital...

@Blossom37 that looks like a good rise! Another 2 days should confirm it. I know I ovulated yesterday but seem to be having a very slow but Steady rise in bbt. Not sure if that's normal but I'm hoping it continues to go up!

Hi sorry to jump on first time I’ve got a strong positive opk but it’s the 3rd day now is this normal? X

Fifi1086 · 18/02/2021 10:16

Hi @Hopefully12 do you mean it's the third day of a positive opk?

Blossom37 · 18/02/2021 10:42

@Hopefully12 what opk are you using? Just tests or digital? Your test line would need to be darker than the test line to show peak but sometimes it happens the levels are high before and after peak and some women have low shape peak and sharp drop to low.

I'm only using the tests so mine was like the pic below.

I'm also temping so had a drop and then 2 days later raise and now higher temps 3rd day in a row so thinking I ovulated 48h after my peak on CD11

Hi all thank you for replying.
I’m using the same strip tests and app I can’t upload a picture for some reason.
I got a positive both lines same colour then peaked the test line was darker but I’ve tested again and the lines are still really dark I’m worried as it cd22 and this is the first time I’m ovulating since my cp in November xx

Blossom37 · 20/02/2021 00:42

@Hopefully12 do you happen to suffer with PCOS by any chance? Sometimes with PCOS the hormones are a little bit off balance. I also had a few months when they were crazy high for few days before and after and one months I had like 3 peaks 😆

I have endometriosis. I’m currently in the tww. I’ve took a test today stupidly and got a faint positive already and now I’m kicking myself thinking chemical.
Fingers crossed I’m not due period for a week xx

Blossom37 · 21/02/2021 16:18

@Hopefully12 oh I get why you may worry but tentative congratulations either way x
