Coming off the pill

I’m due to get married in October this year. I’m 29, me & my partner would like to start trying for a baby after our wedding. I was thinking of coming the pill in August, to give my body time to get back to a normal cycle.
Is it also true for me to start taking folic acid up to 3 months before we start trying?

If you do come off early, I would be very careful with alternative contraception unless you want to risk being pregnant on your wedding day! I came off at 37 to TTC and got pregnant that first month. I'd been on the pill the best part of 20 years!

I’ve stopped taking Yasmin with a view of trying to fall pregnant. Waiting for the inevitable weird cycle symptoms!
