Berkshire waiting times & combining private and NHS

My fiancé and I have been referred to the local fertility clinic. Our NHS trust is Berkshire. Is anyone able to advise on what the current waiting times are like? I know this is probably a long shot but in case someone here has been referred to them recently!

We are also considering private. We are going to have a consultation with a private clinic just to see what they suggest and what the cost would be.

We would prefer not to spend loads on private treatment, so whether we move forward with that will depend on NHS waiting times. But that will be hard to time so I was wondering what happens if you get to your NHS appointment and have already received treatment from a private doctor?

Will the NHS refuse to treat you completely or will they ask you to stop the other treatment before they will treat you? I've read that if you've had private IVF then you cannot get NHS IVF, but we're not at the IVF stage. I understand that two clinics should not treat you for the same thing at the same time as it could be dangerous.

Any experiences of combining NHS and private treatment?
