Positive outcomes of progesterone in pregnancies

So, I wonder if anyone has been prescribed progesterone in there pregnancies and it have w positive outcome.

I had 3 miscarriages in 2020, one in April, one in October (which was a chemical) and another in December. I also had a stillbirth in 2015 with identical twins, they had TTTS so they hasn’t really linked with the miscarriages.

I had been referred to the NHS miscarriage clinic which I had my phone call with them yesterday. All my bloods for thyroid, blood clotting, a scan I had showed my womb was fine and the lining around it was fine. I did however have cysts on my ovaries, had a blood test for polycystic ovaries and that came back clear. I did however have a swab taken and it showed group b which I’ve been prescribed a week course of penicillin.

On the phone call yesterday the consultant was happy with my results, positive that I had a pregnancy that passed the first trimester (my twins) and she has prescribed that I take progesterone in my future pregnancies. So when I find out, I inform my doctors and they will give me the progesterone and I take it until I’m 16 weeks pregnant. And also has advised I have an early scan at 6 weeks and again at 7 weeks.

Has anyone had progesterone in their pregnancies and had a positive outcome? I don’t want to run away with myself and think it’s the cure

Hi
Long time lurker. After having several miscarriages I was prescribed progesterone which I took two days after ovulation for each of my successful pregnancies. In my third pregnacy I stopped after 13 weeks and after the 1st and 2nd I stopped after 15 weeks.
I hope it all goes well for you.

I was prescribed progesterone with my second baby. It was my fourth pregnancy- I had one baby and two miscarriages at that point. The pregnancy went well. I was also taking aspirin for that pregnancy. I have subsequently had 3 more pregnancies, my third baby and another miscarriage and my current pregnancy (32 weeks). I wasn't prescribed any medication for any of these pregnancies.

I have just found out I’m pregnant, literally yesterday. And will be in touch with the doctors tomorrow to follow up from the call about being prescribed the progesterone while it’s still early.

@calimommy did you have miscarriages while taking the progesterone? Or in the pregnancies you didn’t?

@MollySxx not with the pregnancies I lost, just one pregnancy and that pregnancy was successful.
