Congrats. i am due on today but my last cycle was 40 days so do not know if i have to wait another two weeks for my period. cycle is a bit screw whiff as still bf i suppose! but i watch this thread with interest.

mammymac · 31/10/2007 11:24

Oh my goodness....I have just done a test and got a BFP too! Been ttc #2 for a year. I'm booked for a laparoscopy next week - guess I'll have to cancel that!
Trouble is, I was pretty sure I wasn't pregnant as I've been having mild pains for the last few days (like I normally get before AF) and occasional sharp pains. Very nervous now. Should I be checked for ectopic? Would they scan me this early?
Hoping hoping hoping - I'm trying very hard not to get my hopes up but it's pretty well impossible not to after all this time.
Congrats to the other BFPs!!!!

Another one bites the dust!! This is getting scary!!! Just LOOK at Active Convos!!

(Congrats MM!! )

Cheekster · 31/10/2007 11:48

Mammymac - I really really really dont want to scare you but that is exactly how i felt my last pregnancy which ended in a mc at 5 weeks. I thought it was probably just implantation pains.

Having said that - that could be the case for you but please go get yourself checked out - I still havent forgiven myself for not doing so when I was pg.

GryffinGirl · 31/10/2007 11:52

CONGRATU-BLARDY-LATIONS!!!!!
I am so thrille dof ryou. You are now on the Graduate list

bethoo · 31/10/2007 11:52

Cheekstar - there is nothing to forgive yourself for, a miscarriage cannot be prevented if it is going to happen. i have had two mc and when i conceived again i was told that if it is going to happen there is nothing you can do about it. even though i bled up to 16 weeks i have a lovely 8 month old now

ShinyHappyPurpleSeveredHeads · 31/10/2007 11:54

Mild pains can also be perfectly normal in early pg. Mention it to the GP/midwife asap so you can be reassured.

WHAT am I doing on this conception thread?!!

Can I tell you ladies that my pregnant 21 year old DSD has just phoned to say she has just had a scan (at 11 weeks) and it's TWINS!

PeachyFleshCrawlingWithBugs · 31/10/2007 11:54

Kitty you'll have a bleedin liberal like me (my birthday July 8th LOL)

congrats!

FrankAwenstein · 31/10/2007 13:21

Congratulations Mammymac

spookykitty · 31/10/2007 13:45

mammymac - congratulations see you on the antenatal thread.

I've had some weird pains in my pelvic region for the past 3 days, could just be ligaments stretching, it's happened to me before too.

Thanks everyone.
Haven't told anyone yet - even DH! I've done another test, a cheapy Asda one and got a pretty faint line but still there.
It's a bit awkward as quite a few people know about my laparoscopy so I'm probably going to have to tell a few people far earlier than I would prefer to. Hey ho. That's the downside of letting people know you're having difficulties ttc. Ironically, we only told the first people in the last month.
Off to the Doctor tomorrow to see what she saying about the aches.

DANCESwithHughJackman · 31/10/2007 20:30

Mammymac - I had awful period pains in the run up to getting my bfp with dd (now aged 4yrs!) and convinced dh there was nothing doing that month.

Oh and congratulations (and to SK)!

expatinscotland · 31/10/2007 20:39

congrats to all you preggos.

i hope none of your tits are as sore as mine.

NAB3 · 31/10/2007 20:46

mammymac If this is your first baby (congrats btw) it is probably everything stretching.

spookykitty · 31/10/2007 20:49

expat - my boobs don't do anything they are rubbish, I am really hoping they grow soon they have been like two oranges in two socks since DD2 finished with them.

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 31/10/2007 20:53

mine dropped a cup size after nursing dd2.

Denny185 · 31/10/2007 20:57

MM just tell them your laparoscopy has been cancelled - its the NHS after all it happens all the time!!- then you can keep it quiet a little longer.
Congrats everyone on your BFP's

spookykitty · 31/10/2007 21:05

mine have too expat but I had a pg-bf-pg-bf cycle no wonder they are knackered, also am a stone and a half lighter than pre-DC now.

Follow-up after Dr....got referred to gynae at the hosp with suspected ectopic. They were talking about keeping me in!! Anyway, they've taken blood tests and will do another set on 48 hours later which will apparently show likely ectopic (levels don't increase as much). Internal scan showed nothing - too early.
They've cancelled the lap and dye and pretty much told me that even if we miscarry now, that'll be us off the fertility treatment anyway.
Struggling to remain optimistic with all these concerned medical staff giving me serious faces.
