DH and I were originally planning to start TTC now (beginning of 2021) but due to Covid-related job and money issues, decided last year to push it back roughly 6 months to summer 2021. So that’s the current plan.
However, I’m now seeing the info about the Covid vaccinations and how they won’t vaccinate if you’re pregnant unless you’re extremely vulnerable.
I’m very keen to get the vaccine and don’t really want to put it off if possible. I know they changed the guidance recently to say TTC after the jab was fine, but as both DH and I are early 30’s and otherwise healthy (or at least have nothing classed as vulnerable/dangerous re: Covid) and do not work in any job that would prioritise us, we’re looking at being at the end of the list for the jabs which could mean waiting til autumn.
(Obviously we could get vaccinated sooner than that and therefore this question is irrelevant but I’m a planner and a worrier and this has been on my mind for the past week or so!)
I know it’s only a few months later than our current plan, and I know realistically it’s likely going to take at least few months minimum to even conceive, but since we’ve already had to adjust our plan I’m really not liking the idea of essentially having to put off starting to TTC for almost a year.
Should we wait until after I’ve been vaccinated? Or start trying when we planned to anyway, and hopefully get the jab before conceiving?
