I’m so confused - day 21 progesterone results?

Hi all I’m so confused! Been TTC about 7 months for my first. No luck yet and starting to get quite anxious about it. Went for day 3/day 21 tests and got told yesterday that they were normal at day 21 being 26.7.

After I’ve had a look on the net it looks like 30 should be normal? And not 26? I’m so confused.

Does anyone know please? Any suggestions?

Thanks

Same boat here. Ive had 2 lots of day 21 tests. Both low.
From lovely people on here and google searches it needs to be over 30 to confirm ovulation.
My GP told me my test was normal when it was in the 20's. Only after I went back to them and questioned it did they agree to refer me.
Also having bloods on day 21 isnt accurate unless your cycle is bang on 28 days long as I found out the first time.
It should be taken 7 days before your period us due. Unfortunately my GP couldnt grasp this theory and insisted in day 21 for my second lot of bloods. I went when I thought it was the right time and it was still low.
Id say go back to the GP and question it.
Depending in your age and how long youve been trying, they may or may not refer you on?

Agreed with @Flutterby8

If you check the NICE guidelines it states that if it's under 30 it needs to be retested and if it still comes back under 30 you'd need to be referred.

Unfortunately you're not the first lady on here I've seen where the GP is clueless!

Hello. Sorry i cant help with your question as im yet to have day 21 bloods done.
I'm due to have my first bloods done tomorrow but my AF is yet to arrive. Is it best to get the bloods done on day 1 or day 2/3? Would appreciate any advice. Thankyou

Flutterby8 · 28/01/2021 16:53

@JessB89 I didnt actually have bloods at the begining of my cycle but others have said day 2 or 3 of the cycle.
Maybe wait until then?
Some hospitals run a drop in service for bloods which makes life easier to get it done.

JessB89 · 28/01/2021 16:56

@Flutterby8 thankyou. I think ill have to call them. Ive had to change it twice already as i ovulated later so my AF date changed. I have got cramps like AF is about to come but nothing so far today so i think tomorrow will be too early. Then they are shut on the weekend 🤦‍♀️

Is there a local hospital you can have the bloods at without an appointment? One near me runs a service between 9am and 2pm where you done need an appointment. Just turn up, take a number and wait your turn, all be it outside at the moment due to covid. Think they let 10 people into a waiting area at a time. Results were back the next day as well. I know they were closed on sundays though. May be worth a google. You only need your lab form.
Good luck.

@AKcheer I’ve just had mine back today and they are 27.6.

I’ve got some progesterone at home to take from BFP but I’m going to take from today as my fertility section at hospital is suspended.

I’ve had 4 early losses and 1 mmc in 18 months so hopefully the low progesterone is the reason as it’s quite easy to fix x

AKcheer · 29/01/2021 17:59

Hey guys thanks for the comments. I spoke to my GP today and they said it’s borderline and everything else is fine so nothing to worry about. So I’m just going to go with that now and let nature take it’s course to be honest!! What did the doctor say about yours @TTCROYGBIV

@AKcheer well this is the thing, my progesterone test was through the fertility clinic at the hospital and all fertility services are suspended, so no one to speak to! I have emailed the nurse but not sure I will get a response.

Have recently complained to my GP about when I had my tube infection which landed me in hospital and how useless they are so I won’t be calling them.

The clinic gave me the progesterone and I’ve done extensive reading on it and decided to take from tonight until 14dpo and discontinue if no BFP and I’ll take it from ovulation next month. They just said until I’ve had my 21 day bloods done to take it if I get a BFP.

Having had quite a few losses I’m sure its the low progesterone that’s the issue given today’s results.

You can buy the cream which will give you a boost x
