Twisted Ovary / ovarian torsion

Has anyone suffered from twisted ovary - also known as ovarian torsion.
How was it the 1st month after the surgery to fix it. Was ovulation painful? Also did it happen again??

I mean - the 1st month after the surgery when you had ovulation- how was it. Was it early/on time or did it hurt more than usual??

I haven't however I have 5 rupturing haemorraghic cysts on my ovaries at the min and in loads of pain so I totally feel for you if you've got ovary torsion. Sending hugs

I had it. Worst pain I've ever experienced and I'm including labour in that, so you have my sympathy! I had surgery, but they ended up removing the ovary as it was damaged from lack of blood flow so I don't know if ovulation would have hurt more from that one. My consultant did say that having it happen once does not necessarily mean it's more likely to happen again, so hopefully it won't twist again OP.

I've had this. Luckily mine was very brief and caused by a cyst, it lasted 2/3 hours and was the most horrible intense pain. It rectified itself and I had to spend the night in hospital. Ovulation on that side is always more painful for me since, but its not dreadul.

Sane as another poster, the twisting cut off the blood supply and ovary died, so was removed 5 months later.

But no pain after the initial week if twisting.

Thanks ladies. It was so horrible i would never wish it even for an enemy. Dont even want to remember that day. Im wondering How was period in the cycle after? Was it on time?
