Basically what the title says! Been TTC 14 months now and not one BFP.

Anyone been in this situation and had a happy ending?

I'm 42 and currently 37wks pregnant.

We tried for 18mths and had all the fertility tests (already have a DS age 3).
Our fertility appointments had been cancelled due to Covid and I'd completely given up hope.
The month I got pregnant we'd had sex once, and before my "fertile week".
Lots of luck to you, most couples do conceive within 2yrs but I know how upsetting it is.

Great story @MaryShelley1818, makes me feel a bit better

Similar position to you OP, the success stories make me a little more positive it’ll happen.

@2021babyhope Any luck yet? 🤞 coming up to a year, so not quite 14 months, but hoping to hear some positive stories! 😊x

@sunshineandshowers3 heya lovely :) none I'm afraid! Doctor is now referring us for IVF so hopefully onto the next stage. Currently unexplained so frustrating but just glad we've got a plan now!

Hope you're okay xx

Hi guys, We are currently just short of 2 years TTC. I can't explain how many people I've seen start trying, fall pregnant and give birth in that time. I'm currently in yet another 2WW waiting for AF. I don't even test anymore because there is literally no point. I also stopped temping & tracking ovulation because 1) it's costing a fortune now & 2) it was giving my OH performance anxiety knowing when my fertile days were 🙈. We had tests & scans with the GP & they couldn't find anything obvious for me but they said he had borderline low morphology. They have only checked that once and he has tried to improve it with diet changes & supplements but as we haven't had another sample analysed we don't know if there has been any improvement. He feels responsible now & feels so much pressure when we DTD so I said I would stop everything, all the testing and checked temp so he doesn't know when the peak days are, we just try to DTD every 2 or 3 days & we will wait for our referral. We have been referred to the clinic and just waiting for an appointment. I feel like I could have a hormone Imbalance/oestrogen dominance probably from 15 years of constant use of the contraceptive pill as I have a lot of symptoms that match but Doctors's have never tested my progesterone levels so just speculating so I wait to see what they think one we get to see a specialist. Wishing you all loads of luck on your journeys! 💫

Hi all 😊 hit the 14th month mark and feeling so very low about it all, yet also resigned to the fact I just don’t think it’s going to happen naturally for us. @2021babyhope how is the IVF process going for you? And how old are you if you don’t mind me asking? Xx

2021babyhope · 20/06/2021 15:19

@sunshineandshowers3 hi lovely :) we start our first IVF cycle this month! Just started hormones and have egg collection booked for the 5th august ☺️ of course I don't mind! Both my husband and I are 30. No pregnancy's at all and so far unexplained infertility so hoping we'll have a successful first round 🤞🏼

Hi guys,

I'm 19 months in and don't feel like I have much hope left.

Would love some success stories.

sunshineandshowers3 · 20/06/2021 16:03

@2021babyhope Great to hear you have your first cycle booked in! That must feel so positive ❤️. How long have you been trying and is your IVF through the NHS? Trying to gage how long it will take us to get a referral. I’ve just turned 29 and my DP is 31, so a similar age to you guys xx

sunshineandshowers3 · 20/06/2021 16:04

@Lovebug06 Sorry to hear that 😔. I also come onto these threads looking for hope and success stories and clinging onto the possibility it might just happen naturally for us…one day. Have you had initial tests done? ❤️Xxx

2021babyhope · 20/06/2021 16:13

@sunshineandshowers3 very excited to finally be here 😍 I went to our GP around 10 months into trying and just had a feeling it wasn't going to happen naturally for us.

In total now we've been trying 21 months.

All the tests and stuff took about a year but that included Covid causing delays, we were signed off for IVF and NHS funding in April I think and had our first consultation with the private clinic June 3rd. We're really lucky in that there isn't a waiting list for IVF here so once your referred it starts straight away. The only wait we had was for the first consultation with our IVF clinic.

@2021babyhope We went to the GP at a similar time too and for some reason I had the nagging feeling it wouldn’t happen naturally for us either. I’ve always worried about my fertility (started my period very young whilst at primary school) and have always worried I’ve used all my good eggs up 🙈.

No waiting list for IVF is amazing…whereabouts are you in the country? I’m in Birmingham and worry it’ll be pretty long and it’s a postcode lottery sort of thing.

I really hope it goes well for you and is a success 🥰🤞you’ll have to keep us posted! xxx

Lovebug06 · 22/06/2021 10:08

Hiya,

Yes we have had the initial tests, slightly behind though

There is no funding for IVF in my area which is worrying me a lot.

2021babyhope · 22/06/2021 20:23

@sunshineandshowers3 thanks my love 🥰 the rest of the medication arrives next week so starting to get really real!

We're in Norfolk and get 2 rounds on the NHS but unfortunately I think it is completely a post code lottery - the nhs website should be able to tell you what funding you get.

@Lovebug06 sorry to hear that 🥺 depending on your clinic, most have some really good finance options for IVF - the clinic I'm at offer a 2 year unlimited ivf and give you your money back if you don't conceive - takes the pressure off a bit!

Hello! I’m currently in a similar boat that a lot of you were in earlier this year and wondering how you’re all getting on? We are 13 cycles in, in another tww. We’ve had all the tests and it’s unexplained infertility it would seem, so have been referred to our local fertility clinic and our first appointment is late December.

FlyOnTheWall89 · 11/10/2021 18:16

Would love to hear any update and I hope it’s a positive one. These stories are so common and so so sad. How is it fair in life that some can get pregnant on round #1 and others, with no reasons at all, can’t get pregnant without medical intervention. Sending positive vibes xx

Stillwinston · 12/10/2021 08:00

Hi all, just to give you some hope - we were trying for over 2 years with no success. Fertility tests showed husband had sperm issues so we'd definitely need ICSI. Was due to go to our first appointment to start the IVF when I decided to randomly do a test and it came back positive! I now have a very feisty 1 year old so sometimes these things just happen when you least expect it x

thislittlebird · 12/10/2021 09:43

I really hope that happens to us @Stillwinston but my hope is through the floor. We’re now trying induced ovulation privately while we wait for IVF (in 2022 😭). I’ll be 39 in May so I’m worried, we started ttc when I was 36, considering a private round if they can fit us in. Sad to see my past self back in January further up the thread tbh, being hopeful every stage along the way and then still being here now.
