Hi everyone Smile Desperately seeking some advice or if anyone has had similar.
I'm 30 with PCOS but been very lucky to have an now 8yo girl. I was told since that conceving naturally on my own would basically be impossible. I stopped treatment 2 years ago for help with conceving for various reasons and haven't been on any contraception.
Fast forward to today I done a pregnancy test, have had severe heartburn, headache, spots. I can't go on any sort of ovulation calender or periods due as I can sometimes only have 3/4 periods a year. I used the test 'answer' from savers and to my absolute shock a very faint pink line appeared. I got it confirmed with my partner and sister, there was a definite faint line. I went and bought another one same brand and again, very very faint line (more faint than first one) Not believing this I got clear blue rapid detection test, Morrisons and Tescos own brand pregnancy tests. All 3 of these have been negative. Granted I have tested late in the evening and drank my body weight in water! I then googled these Answer pregnancy tests and reviews on amazon have said they too have had false positives. I'm now in limbo not knowing what is going on! Has this happened to anyone else? So sorry for the long story!

I can see lines too 😊 I'd guess you're quite early and your period isn't even due yet. When did your heartburn etc. start out of curiosity?
I second the pp who said to test at the same time preferably in the morning, I'd say preferably with the same test as well so it's got a consistent HCG sensitivity. 😊 I hope it progresses to a lovely clear line for you asap!

@november90 Thank you!! ❤️

@MrsKin90 Its frustrating not knowing when I would be due to atleast have that to go on! Heartburn started a few days ago although I do get heartburn from time to time 🤢 I'm going to leave it until Wednesday, that'll be a week since I first took a test and see how it's progressed. Plus, I think I've bought £40 worth of pregnancy tests so far it's not been cheap 😂 x

I often get heartburn after ovulation so wonder if you're midway through the 'two week wait" and getting a very early positive? Just speculative of course. Pregnancy tests are so expensive aren't they?! But then when I use cheap ones I always question if it's a negative BECAUSE it's cheap so can't win really 😂 wishful thinking. Definitely a good idea to wait a while if you can before retesting, will be interested to see how you get on 😊

xMonaL · 17/01/2021 12:51

@MrsKin90 Wow, that's so interesting to know!! Is that a PCOS thing? Definitely does explain a lot!! That's exactly what I'm doing 😂 Cheap ones are showing me something yet the one that cost £14 is saying negative so I'm like, well cheap rubbish then are giving false readings!! As hard as it is I'm forcing myself to hold off 😅 I'm still having cramping in lower stomach and lower back but could be stress related with all this! X

I’ve just tested again with a first response, that looks negative too! I’m so confused!

How can I post a picture? (Sorry, I’m new here lol)

MP1234 · 26/02/2021 16:09

Ahhh I can't add a picture yet as I'm new to mumsnet! :(

SortYourLifeHelp · 26/02/2021 17:10

I think you have to post a few times and then it lets you do it.

Oh I can see that.

Wow they are so negative. I've no idea what that's about.

I would trust those lines though they are more reliable. Sad

MP1234 · 26/02/2021 20:18

I thought that too! I'll try again tomorrow with FMU & what will be, will be!

Thank you for replying :)

We'll try again next month

Hi there. My period is 2 days late I took a clearblue last night. And got a faint line. Retested within 10 mins and got negative. What do you think?

PLEASE HELP! False positive?

Whoever told you that you can't get pregnant on your own due to pcos is talking bollox. The vast majority of women with pcos are able to get pregnant without any intervention.

I have pcos and have extremely irregular periods and I got pregnant naturally in December ( unfortunately lost it) my pcos is quite bad too. Extremely high testosterone, lots of facial and body hair , 1-2 periods a year, 37, and yet we still conceived naturally.
As for the tests it all depends on what brand your using if its designed for early detection or not. Some are alot more sensitive and will pick up earlier and give you a positive while the least sensitive would still be showing negative as its too early. Your hcg levels should be doubling every 2 -3 days and the line should be getting darker. For me that was the first indication that something was wrong as I was bleeding and then my lines were not progressing but instead getting weaker.
I still have hope it can happen naturally again. Don't ever let anyone tell you it can't. There are lots of success stories on here from women with pcos
