Can someone please tell me about vasectomy reversal?

Myself and dh would like a child together, we both have children from previous relationships.

I have one Fallopian tube from an ectopic with my ex and dh had the snip 4.5 years ago.

We live in Warwickshire and have been looking at prices in our area for a vasectomy reversal , been quoted around £3500 privately through Nuffield.

We were wondering if it's cheaper around different parts of the uk and if someone could recommend someone that they had a particularly good experience with.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :-)

My now exh has this done at Coventry BMI privately. It worked!! OUR SON (who ironically he doesn't see!) is nearly 10.
There's a lot of research suggesting the sooner you have it reversed, the more successful it is. His was 12 years old.
It was done by a surgeon who has since retired.

There's a guy in Hartlepool we went to see who specialises in vasectomy reversals. I can't remember why we decided to go local.

Thank you both , I've just googled Coventry BMI hospital and will give them a call to get a price. I appreciate your responses x

Hello

My dp had a reversal September 2019 after 12 years.

We paid around £3,200 with Spire for the reversal. Operation was straightforward, no issues! Still ttc, Dp sperm count is gradually increasing so still hopefull. It takes around 6 months for the sperm to get up to speed again. Your success rate is higher due to your dp having his vasectomy 4.5 years ago. Happy to answer any questions!

@RobinRose Thankyou , I may take you up on that SmileMy dh is asking what your dp thought of the pain ? He is a little nervous quite understandably. That's great about his sperm count increasing. Good luck x

@XJerseyGirlX no problem my! my dp underestimated the amount of pain he would be in, he was very black and blue and swollen. He found it uncomfortable to sit down for about a week, walking was quite painfull too. (Walking far is not encouraged) He was advised to take 2 weeks off work as he has a physically demanding job. Not everyone experiences the same level of pain and discomfort though so don't be put off! He was given pain medication which helped and could call anytime if there were any issues or concerns (he was bleeding slightly from one of the stiches, wasn't and issue though) it did take a while for the bruising to go... never seen so many shades of purple 😳🤣 also got given a super sexy sling for his manhood which he wore for about 4 weeks (that is the only way I can describe it 😂) thank you, you too!x

My husband had reversal in November after 8 years. We have 3dc aged 8,10 and 12 together. We are in Ireland so cost was obviously more expensive. We had considered going to the UK, not sure what clinic but the pandemic hit do we stayed at home. Hubby was fine after reversal. We have decided not too "properly" try yet as we don't want to be disappointed every month. We are both taking our vitamins and exercising. We are thinking around March we will start.
@RobinRose, hope you doing well Wink

Thankyou @RobinRose , ooh your poor husband. @IndieRo good luck for when you start trying. I had my daughter 8 years ago and would love another x

@XJerseyGirlX I think he was just a bit unlucky!

@IndieRo hey! I am doing ok thanks, how are you?

IndieRo · 13/01/2021 13:39

@RobinRose, I'm good considering what's going on in the world at the moment. I'm just getting on with home schooling and wishing my days away until I can have a drink Friday night. GrinWine

Hello,

@RobinRose @IndieRo

could you maybe tell me if the sexual experience changed since the reversal? I wonder if the reversal could negatively or positively impact it.

Thanks
