Day 8 of flashing CB smiley... anyone had static after this?

Going crazy here! TTC for baby no.1, 1st month. Been using clear blue dual hormone ovulation tests.

Around day 9 of my cycle I started testing, got my first flashing smiley. 4 days after this I started testing in the afternoon/evening too!

We’re on day 8 now and still fucking flashing !!!!!!!!! It is driving me insane and also making me worried that I won’t ovulate this month (or am I just being impatient)

Someone please tell me they got a static after seeing that smiley flash for more than 4 days?!!!

Is there something wrong with my hormones or am I overthinking ?

Yes this happened to me the first month I used it. I agree that flashing face is annoying. I was about to give up on it and finally got a peak on day 9! This was backed up by a positive cheapie a few hours later. If you keep the same holder you can use it again with new sticks, as it has your baseline so you should get less flashing faces next time. I also wait now until I see something on my cheap ones before I use it, means I only use a handful of sticks each month. Hopefully you will get your static face tomorrow!

I had 7 flashing days before I got a static. I only used it in the morning in case evening one mucks up baseline, but that may have been over cautious.
I knew mine was coming as I was using cheapies in the evening and was checking CM.
Have you been looking at the lines after you eject the stick? Are they getting darker?

@Fluffygreyjumper in the morning they seem light (oddly) but of an evening dark! Got some EWCM too so I’m assuming it’s close

@Catmum55566 thank you! Really reassuring I thought surely I need one soon? Hopefully it happens ASAP! The signs point to it being near so fingers crossed

And thank you for letting me know about the monitor/stick thing! Looks like if I don’t get my static in the next 4 days I’ll need to be buying more

The first two cycles I used those opks I had 7 and 8 flashing faces and then as soon as I was about to write myself off with either no LH surge or a low one I got my static. In the last 3 cycles I've had 4, 5 and 5 days of flashing. Hoping this is my month fingers crossed as now in the dreaded 2WW!! On the leaflet it says about a quarter of women have up to 9 flashing faces before static. Sending good luck vibes to you x

I had days and days of flashing every cycle for months and never a static. I hated that little smug flashing face! I gave up using them for a while and then when I tried again I started testing in the morning and then again in the evening - only ever got a static in the evening! Bizarre.

DeeDee20 · 30/12/2020 10:17

@USER2638102937392 hey. I use these too, 1 cycle I had 3 flashing before a static, next cycle was 4 and this current one was 11!! I was going insane but then I got a static and EWCM. I only test once in the morning with fmu. Good luck xxx

Daffodil21 · 30/12/2020 10:18

I got a static on the 10th day of flashing. I was about to give up but I had one test left so thought I may as well use it.

In the kindest possible way, you would help yourself if you stepped back a bit. This is your first month TTC and it could (but hopefully won't!) take a while. It could be a long old road so starting out stressing about it is not going to help you. Hopefully that won't be the case for you though - good luck!

Daffodil21 · 30/12/2020 10:19

Oh just to add - if you need to buy more sticks mid cycle you MUST use the same holder you had already been using

USER2638102937392 · 30/12/2020 10:59

Thank you for all the reassurance everyone!

Of course I know it can and probably will take longer than this month. But still being hopeful we could catch that egg (whenever it decides to come!)

Hoping tonight or tomorrow it comes, flashing smiley is driving me mad

And thank you about the sticks! Will definitely ensure I use the same holder if I have to buy / use more
