anyone got a BFP by dtd 3/4 days before ovulation?

Hi all,

Our 2nd daughter was still born in 2019 and we decided not to try again because we were too scared.

We’ve also got our wedding booked for 2021 (after delaying 4 times in 2020!)

Any way, after a few too many drinks we dtd and I’ve just realised it falls 3 days before I ovulated. Has anyone got a BFP from 3 days before?

I know it’s possible but wondering how likely it is!? And if anyone has experienced a BFP this way!?

I’m know remembering how tormenting the 2ww is!

Well it only takes one try sometimes. I think sperm can live up to 5 days? Fingers crossed for you love

I think I read somewhere that the average life of a sperm is 1.4 days. So it’s unlikely, but possible, as they say some sperm can last up to 5 days.

It is possible to get pregnant from having unprotected sex 3 days before ovulation. I did in one of my pregnancies- it was actually more like 4 or 5 days if I remember correctly. But it is rather unlikely. The vast majority of pregnancies result from sex 1 or 2 days before ovulation.

Thank you all! We’re very lucky to have a older daughter who is our absolute world. We don’t feel like we need another baby after such a horrific experience so the only way we’d get a BFP is by accident! We tried for 10 months for our daughter who died at birth and I found TTC so stressful, definitely won’t be doing that again.

I just double checked and we dtd on Saturday and ov’d on Monday.

I guess what will be will be!

We did, in October but it ended in a miscarriage. But we know the exact dates of ovulation and sex and we stopped three days beforehand and got a BFP.
