So I finished my period 6 days, normal period but I did actually notice a few clots.

Today randomly I did a ic pregnancy test after a positive ovulation test. I took the FRER test an hour later and they are positive.
I'm so confused, this was a regular period for the usual amount of time and I stated it on my usual cycle day. Could I still be pregnant despite the bleeding? I'm so confused and not even sure of next steps now.

Any thoughts or similar experiences? Thank you

Hello I had normal but lighter period and have had two faint tests

The thing is if I'm pregnant I don't know if I calculate my due date by the period just gone or last months!

calimommy · 18/12/2020 04:58

@wavecatcher looks good! Mustn't have been a period after all! The same happened to me, although without the bleeding, I had recurrent positive OPKs so tested. Congrats!

Livingmagicallyagain · 18/12/2020 07:36

@wavecatcher they are very positive tests! Did you test last cycle too?

See a GP as you'll need a scan ASAP.

MamaMoonbeam · 18/12/2020 07:38

You could be pregnant or could be having a chemical. Best to get in touch with your gp for tests

kirinm · 18/12/2020 09:32

I would speak to your GP quickly and ask for a referral to the EPU. It is important that they rule out anything untoward.

There are other things it could be. I had a 'period' and immediately after positive tests. It was an ectopic.

Thanks all for replying, that's really helpful.

I had a normal cycle period in November and just finished my December cycle. It's so odd as it started on my usual period day as predicted by app.

I've spoken to my doctor this morning they are going to take bloods today and then on Monday. She said deciding on the results I may be scanned then. So I guess just a waiting game now then.
I took a digital today also which is positive.

I'm pleased your GP is on it and has ordered bloods. Some GPs seem really on it whereas others don't seem to have a clue.

Fingers crossed for you!

Thank you. She is a really lovely GP and sad to say when it comes to woman's health the male doctors are not as good as the female. Well at my practise any way.

@kirinm regardless if it is ectopic (which I hope not) it's still a pregnancy and the tests are positive. I'm sorry for your experience. Not all bleeding is ectopic related. Good Luck @wavecatcher 🤞

Oh wow! How long ago was your period?
I really hope everything works out for you lovely! ❤️

Well done for getting bloods done! I got a positive test at the end of a period and sadly turned out to be ectopic, really hope this isn’t the case for you and I’m happy to hear you are getting it checked out. When I made a thread quite a few people had bleeding in their normal pregnancy. Fingers crossed for you and keep us updated xxx

Thank you so much for your reply. Can I ask what symptoms you had with the ectopic? Sorry to hear this happened to you. I'm lucky I had a helpful doctor call me back today. I've never experienced bleeding and still had a positive test, especially as it seemed like an actual period.

@wavecatcher how are you getting on? Have you had more bloods yet?
