Ever since TTC, periods have turned weird!

I just wanted to see if anyone else is going through the same thing as me as Doctors can't seem to work out what's wrong.

Me and my partner have been TTC for 8 months now and ever since then my periods have gone light and different.
I used to have quite a heavy steady flow for 2-3 days, very red/fleshy bleed. Now I get scanty days of light brown spotting few days before I am due (which first time convinced myself it was implantation bleed) and then turns to watery, dark brown liquid but only lasts about a day then back to brown discharge again. Never red anymore.

I am still regular which is a good sign but why have my periods turned different now that were TTC? Has anyone else had this?
The doctors have ran a few tests to rule out infections and came back all normal.
They seemed to think I might be stressing myself out about falling pregnant but I'm honestly not, its not on my mind everyday and I'm still carrying on my life like normal, drinking caffeine/alcohol etc. I'm more concerned about my weird periods!
I never thought I would see the day where I was hoping to have a heavy, red bleed!!

Anyone else's periods gone weird since TTC?

Mine did when I was TTC number 1. Never worked out why - stress maybe? Or maybe just noticing weird stuff more? It was all fine and I fell pregnant x

Oh thats reassuring to hear!
I have been searching the Internet for a similar post about weird periods but its all about not being regular which I am. I come on the exact same day every month just weird brown stuff!!
Glad to hear you successfully fell pregnant with a weird bleed though!

What contraception were you using prior to TTC, when you presumably stopped it?
It's possible if you were on something that gave you regular withdrawal bleeds, these were what you describe as normal period. However that would have been an artificial 'period' and what you're experiencing now is your real natural period. Things can be very different to what they used to be if you've been on hormonal contraception a long time.

I was last on the pill over 2 years ago. I had to come off because I was getting regular headaches and they were concerned about strokes - joys of being a woman hey?!
So ever since been using natural cycles so I know my cycles really well and when I ovulate etc.
I think it lead me into a false sense of security and thought this would be an easy process as my cycles were so perfect until trying TTC - typical!

Doctor said may be thin endometrium so said I could try going back on the pill for 6 months to basically get my lining nice and thick but obviously delays the getting pregnant process so I think il avoid that

Oh fair enough, sorry I've no more bright ideas why your periods have suddenly changed then. At least you're regular - good luck with the TTC!
