I am in a bit of a dilemma.Had a laproscopy last month and got a period last Tuesday.Myself and hubby had unprotected fun on Fri night...day 4 of cycle.Today day 7,I did an advanced digital test and it has come up as high fertility. My cycle is usually 28 days..is pregnancy a possibility if I ovulate soon?Id be delighted if it was but don't want to get my hopes up x

@Sanne48 Hm normally if before CD10 it's deemed the egg would most likely not be viable for conception. However, I doubt it is ovulation to be honest - high fertility just means your oestrogen is surging right? So could be the start of fertile week but you could still ovulate in 5 days or so from now.

Alternatively - it is not uncommon to have multiple LH peaks during a cycle, so if you get one now, carry on testing in case you have another one later in the cycle. Ultimately you can only really confirm if you track your BBT!

Sanne48 · 14/12/2020 14:28

Ok thanks for your reply.I didn't realise that about the egg at all before CD10.Thanks for the info. If I ovulated on CD 9 or 10 it obviously wouldn't be a possibility either

Hi - something similar happened to me. I had peak fertility on day 8/9 and then again day 13/14 - I flapped but this was actually the cycle I conceived on! Here's my CB chart

It's not uncommon - I suppose we all just have a spot light on our cycles right now!

So the body thinks it's released an egg, but it doesn't rupture from the follicle and realises after a few days and goes on to release another 🙃remember it is totally normal xx

Pink is period
Dark purple is peak
Lighter purple is high
Grey is non fertile x

Nittersing · 14/12/2020 14:40

It's possible but not likely.
That said, I have a child from sex on day 5 of my cycle and another from sex on day 7.
Added to that level of odd I also conceived from sex on day 30 ( mistook ovulation pains for period pain).

I have had more pregnancies from sex at the wrong time than the right time 🤣.

I normally have a very regular cycle of 30 days with ovulation around day 18. Go figure 🤷‍♀️

Sanne48 · 14/12/2020 14:43

Ok thanks. I didnt realise that could happen. My son was born in October 2018 and I wasn't tracking then and am convinced it was because I had unprotected sex before my period ended but I t probably wasn't.x

OP posts:
Sanne48 · 14/12/2020 14:59

were you tracking ovulation if you don't mind me asking x

OP posts:
Twinkle1989 · 14/12/2020 16:02

@Sanne48 who are you asking sorry?

I was tracking via Clear Blue Connected ♥️

ohsheglows · 14/12/2020 18:53

Hey, this happened to me this month! Finished my period on day 5, got a LH peak on day 6 and 7. I didn't have a second peak at all that month and my period came a week early, so I ended up having a 22 day cycle! I have heard it's possible to get pregnant, but in my case it didn't happen.

Sanne48 · 14/12/2020 19:12

Ok.So you ovulated straight away after?Hmm ok it's a waiting game now...maybe I'll test again tomorrow and see then. What actually got me thinking to test was the c mucus and I thought no way but then it came up high fertility. May not b ovulate for days yet though....

OP posts:
ohsheglows · 14/12/2020 19:44

@Sanne48 yep, I believe I ovulated straight after. I only tested because of CM too. It was really odd because I normally have cycles of 30-31 days and usually have an LH peak on days 15/16. Good luck and let us know the outcome!

Sanne48 · 14/12/2020 20:01

Thank you. I'm usually a 28 day cycle and ovulated around day 13 or 14 but im starting to wonder has the laparoscopy thrown me out a bit.Had that done on Nov 18th but had a period as normal last week so God only knows.Im a bit worried though about what Juno231 said about the egg not being viable before day 10 of cycle....

OP posts:
timeforanother1 · 14/12/2020 22:28

This is interesting reading- it seems I might regularly ovulate before day 10 does this mean I wouldn't conceive?

Before ttc 3 1/2 years ago I was a perfect 28 day cycle and got my bfp first try.
The last couple of years I've missed periods for 2 months at a time (def not pregnant) and when I'm regular it's never 28 days anymore.

Sanne48 · 15/12/2020 10:22

I had never heard that before timeforanother1.That was the first I heard of it when the other poster said it. I am usually 28 day cycles and generally start testing from around day 12 but this month the cervical mucus was different so I chanced testing year but still on high fertility this morning so could be a few days before I ovulate

OP posts:
timeforanother1 · 15/12/2020 11:28

Just keep dtd @Sanne48 lol

I kept a track of my periods as we wanted another so I thought it would be useful to know what's going on. Some days when I've come on and logged it it's pushed my fertile back into the days of my period Confused

Might keep it 'natural' for another few months then start tracking if no bfp.

Sanne48 · 15/12/2020 12:34

Oh definitely 😉 I'm 36 and soon to be 37 in March so would love if I could have one more xa

Ok so today day 9 I had to buy a new pack of clearblue and I got a low fertility symbol after 2 days of high and no peak and now low?

OP posts:
timeforanother1 · 16/12/2020 20:20

Not used that myself- could it be that you missed the peak just by coincidence? As in your highs were on the way to the peak and it happened but you didn't catch it?

Sanne48 · 16/12/2020 22:34

@ timeforanother1 my holder broke yest evening so I didnt get to test last night at all only this morning and it said low fertility this morning..

Sanne48 · 21/12/2020 20:32

Hi OP,

I used the CB Advanced Ovulation this month. It’s my first month using an OPK. I had 2 days of low fertility and then on the 3rd morning straight to peak. I was only cycle day CD9!! Obviously it was stuck at that for 48 hours so I couldn’t retest with that, but I did have a BBT spike and I also took a cheapie the next day and that was pretty much the same colour as the control line. I’m now CD15 and it’s said low fertility every day since, so I’m assuming I did actually just ovulate on CD9. Bit worried to read that may mean it’ll be hard to get pregnant, especially as I’m not sure if I normally ovulate this early on in my cycle, but just to say you’re not the only one!

And I would say yes, you’ve definitely covered the bases re DTD!

timeforanother1 · 21/12/2020 21:41

@Sanne48 you definitely dtd at the right time!

So what day is af due?

Sanne48 · 21/12/2020 22:33

Should be due on January 4th give or take a day or 2 but that said I had a laproscopy in Nov and had a 27 day cycle so hard to know exactly.....even though I had peak fertility on Saturday its normally 24 to 36 hrs after that ovulation takes place?Plus I may not have ovulated as I dont take my temp as of yet

OP posts:
Sanne48 · 21/12/2020 22:35

@SweetShopSurprise
Another month I didnt get a peak until day 21 and had a period on day 26.... before I had my laparoscopy which means the luteal phase would be obviously way to short for anything.Every month is so different isn't it?

Toastedsesame · 21/12/2020 22:50

I always seem to get positive OPK's straight after my period, sometimes I get ewcm too, but I seem to ovulate on either cd19 or cd23 🙈 I haven't worked out which yet as I got high fertility both dates. 33 day cycles.
