Just a quick question, how long did it take you to get pregnant after the combined pill? (I know everyone is different)

Hi
I had my normal withdrawal bleed 4 days after stopping the pill, a 27 day cycle (we weren't trying/used condoms) then proper AF. Then fell that first cycle trying 🙂

@AMS19 thank you for replying and that's good to know you got back to normal so quickly, congratulations!Smile

Thanks @pinkbow was very lucky. Everyone is different but definitely possible 🙂

The first time I fell pregnant whilst on the pill, DC2 2 months after coming off the pill and DC3 1 month. But I’m quite young so don’t know if that’s why it was quite easy

pinkbow · 14/12/2020 18:57

@isawthat so lucky it happened so quickly for you! Smile
I've been doing some research and I know age is a big factor but I've read other things like weight can make it harder, especially if you are over weight. But not so sure how true it all is lol.

We’re definitely very lucky and I hope that you will be too. There definitely are factors that influence fertility but obviously it just depends on the person really. Best of luck to you!

pinkbow · 14/12/2020 19:40

@isawthat thank you so much I hope it won't take me long either but I'm still young to. how old are you if you don't mind me asking?

I’m early 20’s :)

AMS19 · 14/12/2020 20:29

@pinkbow if it makes you feel any better im 33! And fell first month! Have you started trying yet?

pinkbow · 14/12/2020 20:33

@AMS19 yes this has made me feel better! Smile. I've come off the pill and had the withdrawal bleed (finished on Saturday) and now just tracking ovulation! What pill were you on? I was on microgynon. Been on it 10 years!

I was on combined pill for 17 years. Had one period after stopping then pregnant. Good luck.

AMS19 · 14/12/2020 20:36

@pinkbow I was on mercilon for 7 years and microgynon before that. You definitely have a chance for it all to happen quickly. I never dreamed my first proper period would arrive 27 days after the first day of my withdrawal bleed. When I started spotting I assumed it was from having sex. I was bouncing off the walls when I realised my period had come so soon. Stocked up on sanitary towels, and then didnt need them again as I fell pregnant that cycle! So although it is absolutely 100% normal if it takes a few months, remember that doesn't mean it will!

pinkbow · 14/12/2020 20:40

@Cdl84 that's amazing and thank you Smile

@AMS19 this has given me hope! I have come off the pill once for like 3 months but it was years ago and I do remember my period returning to normal, but I hope it will be the same this time Smile

@pinkbow wishing you lots of luck!

Sorry just jumping on this thread.
I was on Lucette and came off beginning of November, had the withdrawal bleed straight away and only just got my period today!

I'm also hoping it won't take super long to get pregnant as I was on the pill for 8 years and was so worried it would have effected my fertility... I have ordered ovulation strip tests so I can keep a eye on when I am ovulating as I've never tracked anything previously! 🙈

Lou98 · 04/01/2021 11:56

@pinkbow just to give an opposite side to that. It took me 2 years after coming off the pill to get pregnant. I don't think it had anything to do with the pill as after my first bleed I was tracking ovulation and I was ovulating as normal, it can just take time and this is normal too. We fell pregnant naturally in August after starting TTC in September 2018.

Fingers crossed it happens quickly for you and it's amazing that it happened so quickly for everyone on this thread so far, but wanted to give you the other side so that you can prepare that it may take longer than you hope. I didn't really expect this when I started and convinced myself there must be something wrong as it was taking so long.

I'm also early 20's and normal weight etc
