Flashing smiley after Peak on Clearblue Ovulation Test

Hi ladies, I just wanted some advice. This is cycle 2 of ttc baby number 2, and I’ve started to use the Clearblue Ovulation Tests (dual hormone, purple one). I tested this week and Peaked Tuesday so the solid smiley stayed on there for 48 hours. Out of curiosity I kept testing once that smiley had disappeared and to my surprise have had flashing smileys every day since. I use my CM and cervix position to also predict ovulation, and based on those the Peak was right, so now I’m just confused! I’ve read a few threads about this and those who seem to have experienced this ended up being pregnant but I think that must just be a coincidence? Has anyone else experienced this? Any idea what it means? Hope someone can shed some light! Thanks :)

I can't really help but thought you might appreciate a response as I know it can be disheartening when you don't get a reply here. I use the CB digitals too however as the instructions say not to continue using once you get a static face I always stop using them that day and don't start using it again until I'm testing for my new cycle.

However I know when people use the cheaper OPKS they get a dark solid peak test and then when they continue over the next few days they tend to get two lines that gradually fade off as the LH reduces. Perhaps this is working the same it's still detecting Lh in your urine as it fades off but not as strong as your peak hence the flashing. Either way I'm sending positive vibes your way and hope you get the outcome you're looking for ☺️✨

Thank you. As it was my first month using them I wanted to make sure that the Peak was done so totally expected a negative. I’ve read a few things that say it last probably detecting estrogen as LH trails off pretty sharpish. Just don’t know why it’s still so high, but this might be normal for me and I just don’t know it. I did a cheapy opk strip and the LH line was very faint so I know it’s definitely not that. Thank you for replying though!

Hi Carly

Your probably not going to see this as it was posted a long time ago but did you find out the reason behind this as I’m experiencing the same.
