Hi all, sadly I had a miscarriage last month and ended up having surgery on 1st dec to remove pregnancy tissue. If I count that as day 1 then I’m day 11 now and was just wondering what people think about whether I’m likely ovulating soon or still just left over pregnancy hormones ? Top one is ovulation, bottom one is pregnancy. If you really squint there’s still a sliiight positive on the pregnancy test. Thanks all ! Xx

No I would say you are ovulating xx

@SophW194 did you do some PG tests after the MC to see when the HCG has dropped? It could be that you still have HCG in your system, it takes a little while to drop right down

I see a line on your HGC test which would indicate that you have some residual pregnancy hormones left in your system still. A LH test will also appear positive if there is HCG present. I think it's still too soon since your miscarriage, you need to wait until the HCG test is negative. Ovulation will not cause a line on HCG test so I doubt you are ovulating yet. Good luck, I'm sorry for your loss, I've had 3 and it is very frustrating waiting for your body to reset when you want to move on and start again.

Hi all,

Thanks so much for the replies ! I think you’re both right about the hcg. I had done some previously which were more positive, and I thiiink I’m pretty much back to zero now (I’ve attached my photo from today). My lh seems to be all over the place going up and down each day and I’ve been a little crampy today.

Calimommy I’m sorry to hear about your losses, it’s truly heartbreaking and I wouldn’t wish it on anybody 🥺. Did you notice how long it took for your body to get back into a cycle ? So hard not knowing what to expect isn’t it 😔. Thanks again xx

It can take anywhere from a few days to many weeks in my experience. It took 8 weeks after one loss but only a week after another. I think you are close to complete negative, I think there is a slight shadow on the hcg from today so hopefully clear from tomorrow - but may be just the photo.

@SophW194 I’m glad you are getting some bit of clarity. And it is good to test till you can be sure you are starting from scratch so to speak. The month or two afterwards can be a little confusing as your body is settling. I had a MC at 5 weeks and my cycle came back 28 days after the first day of bleeding. I had one at 11 weeks and it was 32 days after my first day of bleeding. It can vary from person to person. The general rule is Your period will come back in 4-6 weeks And the later in weeks you were in PG the longer it will take.

It can be a confusing time. So try not to put too much pressure on trying again this month...though that is easy to say and hard to do I know. I had very strong symptoms In the months after my MC. Exactly like being PG I just couldn’t believe that I was not - nausea, sore boobs, dizziness, cramps - but it was just residual hormones. I ovulated again as normal straight away so was able to try.its a good idea as if you know when u ovulate u should know when to expect your period.
