TTC newbie, EWCM and OPK lines when will I ovulate

Hi

I took my last pill (dianette) on 7th Nov, had withdrawn bleed on 12th Nov for around 4 days. Was expecting my normal period to resume this week. Just went to the toilet and noticed a lot of EWCM which I haven't yet had, took an OPK test and I have attached pic. I took one on Sunday just to try it out as I had only just bought them in preparation and it only had one line. The line is quite strong now, I think? I'm a bit gutted as DP works away mon-fri and we never had sex last weekend and if we have sex this Friday it may be too late? So probably missed out, and it will probably be a problem in future cycles too as we can't guarantee he will be here when I'm ovulating. Judging by test strip, when is it likely I will actually ovulate? I thought it was a bit off given that my bleed was 4 weeks ago and haven't had a period yet?

I think maybe this is a bit clearer, line seems to have got a bit darker.

Lines are looking good but it's not quite positive yet, it's positive when the line is the same colour or darker so there is still time. You tend to ovulate 12-48 hours after positive opk.

That's good to hear, as we may well still have time to have sex tomorrow and it not be too late, although I done another not long after the one in the pic and it was a lot lighter? Took a while for the line to actually show. I'm going to do another a bit later and see how the line is, still had a bit of EWCM this morning. It's now 4/5 weeks after I came off the pill with nothing other than a withdrawal bleed so it seems off to me to ovulate this far on when I was expecting my period any day now.

It's possible your periods will be irregular for a couple of months yet if you've only just come off the pill. I'm on my 4th month after coming off and my periods are regular but I've got a short luteal phase which is great for ttc! If only they tell you this when you go on the pill!
With opks I've read your supposed to test between 11am and early evening, so it could be that, or your urine could be too diluted, I'm not sure but keep testing. I had a strong line on Monday afternoon, 4 hours later I got my peak so it can come quickly!

@dramallama7 LH also needs time to build up in your urine so your second test could have been lighter if you didn't hold your urine for minimum 2 h. It can also easily be diluted! This is why FMU isn't advised for use on the OPKs either.

Carry on checking, but this soon after the pill - don't be surprised if you have some really wonky cycles and no ovulation at all sometimes.

So I've just done another test and the line is barely there at all I don't know what's going on. I should of came off the pill earlier really to get my cycles back to normal but I think I was a bit naive. Only tested because of the EWCM. I mean we will DTD tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday anyway it's not going to do any harm but certainly not expecting anything.
