Hi! I am new to the forum but I know this topic has been talked about for quite some time so I just wanted to share my experience in case someone has been through the same.
I am currently TTC#1. I stopped taking BC pills on 7th Nov, had a normal period 11-17th (while taking the pill I have normal 28-30 day cycles and AF that lasts for 6-7 days). According to my calendar (I don’t temp or have used OPKs up til now) I would have O’d on the 26th. The day before this I had a bleed that lasted for less than a day (very scanty and brown so old blood) so I thought it might have been withdrawal bleeding since I’ve heard about that happening when you stop taking BC.
Anyway, we BDD on O day without thinking much of it because we were just sort of trying and see what happens. Since I just stopped BC we were sure it wasn’t gonna happen straight away. A week later I started bleeding again, but very scanty and dark brown. That was on the 24th so supposedly 8dpo. It’s been a weird bleeding, the colour ranging from dark brown, to orange, to light brown and it’s lasted 3 days. Most of the time it would be when I wiped and barely anything on the TP. Sorry if TMI but I also passed some dark brown stringey mucus that came with the bleeding but it was only 2 or 3 and the bleeding never became like AF. Today is just completely gone.
So far I’ve tested 2 times with FMU and BFN. I’ve also been using OPKs in case this isn’t my month and I want to make sure when I O but those were all negative as well.
I have to mention I suffer from PCOS but have lost quite a lot of weight since it’s what gyno recommended. When I have stopped BC in the past my cycles stay quite consistent for a few months then they go a bit crazy, but I’ve never ever experienced this kind of bleeding and never ever have I had a period so early.
I’m not really hopeful at the moment since I’m feeling fine apart from a few mild headaches and a bit of insomnia. But I wanted to see what your experiences were and if someone has experienced something similar. Will try to update if there’s any news
